An Answer to my colleagues who asked me about the stability & retention in a non-surgical management of unfavourable hard tissue undercuts in a flangless/gumfit/winged maxillary complete denture. Peripheral seal is not the only factor resp for retention & stability but recording a good impression with PPS, saliva, well adapted denture surfaces, ridge height & contour, jaw relation esp centric relation, arrangement of artificial teeth etc.... Un-favourable hard tissue undercuts creates a negative effect of the retention of the prosthesis. The Labial & the Buccal borders of the denture are not important for the border seal because the lips & cheeks create a facial seal. P.S: Hands we’re sanitised before and after the video. 😊
