Sangita Kalanidhi Sri Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman has been the Director of the Thanjavur Vaidyanatha Iyer School for Percussion at the Academy for 3 decades. The Academy honoured him on the 31st of August 2024 for his commitment and dedication to the art and for taking it to the younger generations.

He was the Chief guest at the Convocation for the Advanced School of Carnatic Music.
