Something I did for
Presenting a self portrait, (that was long due for the page)

Maa, Mumma, Mom, Mum, Bebe, Amma, Aai, Mau, Ammee, Biji - so many names in different languages to address one being.
MOTHER - a six letter word which stands for that human figure where the whole world resides. A human figure which is a safe place for almost all of us. We may outgrow their arms but it's just their warmth that we look for in any situation.
The relation between a mother and a child is not just of blood but of heart. It isn't necessary to be connected biologically. A motherly affection can come from the heart for a child. Someone becomes a foster parent or someone adopts and someone gives birth but the relation is of the mother and child only. If a child addresses you as a mother in their life, then they hold you in a greater regard in their life.
We always keep mothers in high regard but what we forget is that they are individuals as well. They need a break from all the duties and have a time of their own.
Dear mothers, we love you and can never thank you for always being by our sides. We respect you and regard you everyday. Hope we make you proud always.
To all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day...

MASKED
We hide those tears, fears, heartbreaks, sadness, anxiety and all those overwhelming emotions behind a smile. It's not everyone who will understand you if you confide in them. With that fear of being judged, instead of embracing the pain, we hide it behind the smile. We might be fighting our worst battles inside but we need to put a smiling face outside as a mark of strength. We mask our true feelings, because if you aren't strong enough to hide them you cannot easily survive in this world where the true person is just misused and left behind.
Instead of misusing them, be kind to whosoever you meet because who knows who has masked the true face.
We know nothing about the battles one is fighting behind those closed doors.
