Riding on a bike through the landscapes of rural #Rajasthan, Kali defies stereotypes and embraces #empowerment. Her journey with Project Manzil began in 2020, when she was enrolled in a #skilltraining course by Manzil's Community worker. Driven by the vision of empowering girls, Kali aspired to contribute actively to the project. Becoming a Community Motivator herself, she engaged in door-to-door surveys, encouraging girls in the community to exercise their right to mobility by joining skill courses. Over time, Kali has been a driving force, enrolling 300+ girls in skill courses, ensuring their access to #opportunities, and aiding 100+ in securing #jobs. As we approach #InternationalHumanRightsDay, we acknowledge that enhanced mobility is a human right and helps break stereotypes and access essential services. Project Manzil is enabling girls to stride in that direction. Let's reflect on some noteworthy experiences from the project. Last year, 15 determined girls embarked on a journey covering 1600 kilometers to Bangalore to pursue their careers. Over time, they acquired professional experience and made the choice to relocate to a different city for higher-paying job opportunities. This underscores the #transformativeimpact of #skillsdevelopment and #EconomicIndependence in creating avenues for girls. RSLDC rajasthan
As we celebrate the #internationalweekofhumanrights, we recognise that mobility is not just about unhindered physical movement but also about breaking social barriers and accessing essential resources by one and all. Project Manzil ensures that girls in Rajasthan are challenging traditional #socialnorms and stepping away from conventional roles to explore #economicopportunities - a crucial step towards realizing the fundamental human right to live with dignity. Every one of them has defied norms, stepped out of their homes, and have become a beacon of hope to other girls who dare to dream beyond the confines of tradition. These young women aren't just finding jobs through #skilltraining and income-generating activities. Project Manzil has enabled these young women to rewrite their narratives and shape their destinies. Rahul Sharma, a local resident near the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, had a small cloth shop that faced challenges before the inception of Shri Mahakal Mahalok.
