The second is created by what we encounter- from the co-actor to the stage, from the audience to the blank sheet of paper on our desks. And then there is the third space, meeting ground of the first a

A special Open Class for summertime June. 🌻☀️ Dhwani Vij will take us on a three day journey exploring the relationship between performance, objects and storytelling. This workshop is open to performers, directors, writers and anyone else curious about the practice of theatre and/or telling stories.
About the Workshop: In the realm of theatre, objects possess a remarkable ability to evoke memories, create spaces, develop characters and even act as storytellers in their own right. They surround us in a uniquely intimate manner, outside of the performative space too. In this session we will explore the intricate relationship between objects and storytelling. We will deep dive into the transformative power of the objects for both the performer and the spectator. And we will do this using narratives and anecdotes from our lives.

In this workshop, participants will individually and collectively explore sound, noise, and silence. We're back with our next Open Class this weekend! Something for actors, and those curious about performing. Third Space Collective is organising a two-day workshop for actors on the tools to approach a scene, facilitated by Lakshvir Saran.
For Ages 18 & Above
About the Workshop: This workshop will attempt to develop an understanding of the tools that will help you stay present in a scene. We will use breath, visuals, silences, muscle memory and repetitions to build stakes and find depth within a set of dialogues/exchange. We will also explore tension between and within characters as well as spaces. What is a ready body? How to enter a scene? How important it is to have an objective? These are some of the questions we will try to answer and make sense of together.

MAHISH is a political satire on the systems that govern us, the structures we create to spread fear in a society, and more.
MAHISH is returning to Delhi, with four shows at Black Box Okhla! This is what some of our audiences have to say about the play.
"Aided by some extremely talented actors and brilliant direction, Mahish as a play achieves what very few stories in current political climate manage to or even try to achieve. It centres the critical events that are reshaping the society we inhabit and does so courageously and creatively."

"Mahish turns the politics of Ionesco's Rhinoceros on its head in a way that seems frighteningly apt for today. Even as you laugh through the paranoia of the play, you can't help but feel disconcerted that the distance you are placing between yourself and the characters, between your circumstance and theirs is only a matter of degrees. What you witness is only as strange and absurd as it is true."

"Mahish manages to be entertaining and nuanced right from the get-go, making it eye-opening and a treat to watch. It is entertainment, social commentary, religious fanaticism, casteism and so much more, woven together so beautifully that at times you have to ask yourself, did you come here to have a good time or see social evils at play because Mahish manages to do both.
