उत्तर प्रदेश आयुर्विज्ञान विश्वविद्यालय सैफई में शुक्रवार को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाया गया। ट्रांसफ्यूजन मेडिसिन विभाग के तत्वाधान में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के अवसर पर एक विशेष कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया जिसमें सभी डॉक्टर्स ने प्रतिभाग किया। इस अवसर पर माननीय कुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. प्रभात कुमार सिंह ने कहा कि शारीरिक व मानसिक रूप से स्वस्थ रहने के लिए व निरोगी बने रहने के लिए हमें अपने दैनिक दिनचर्या में योगा करना चाहिए यदि हम निरंतर योग करते रहेंगे तो शारीरिक और मानसिक रूप से स्वस्थ व निरोगी रहेंगे।
कार्यक्रम में योगा ट्रेनर संदीप कुमार ने सभी को पद्मासन, वज्रासन, सिद्धासन, मत्स्यासन, वक्रासन, अर्ध-मत्स्येन्द्रासन, गोमुखासन, पश्चिमोत्तनासन, ब्राह्म मुद्रा, उष्ट्रासन, गोमुखासन। पीठ के बल लेटकर : अर्धहलासन, हलासन, सर्वांगासन, विपरीतकर्णी आसन, पवनमुक्तासन, नौकासन, शवासन योगासन कराए और इन आसनों से होने वाले लाभ के बारे में भी अवगत कराया।
विश्वविद्यालय के सभी विभागों व फैकेल्टी में योग दिवस पर कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन हुआ जिसमें छात्र-छात्राओं और डॉक्टर्स ने भी योग किया।

मुख्य चिकित्सा अधीक्षक डॉ एसपी सिंह ने बताया कि मानसिक रोग विभाग में मानसिक रोगियों को प्रतिदिन योग कराया जाता है जिससे उनके मानसिक स्थिति पहले से धीरे-धीरे बेहतर हो रही है इसीलिए इन रोगियों की दिनचर्या में योग को भी शामिल किया गया है।

आयोजित कार्यक्रम में रजिस्ट्रार डॉ चंद्रवीर, संकायाध्यक्ष डा आदेश , ट्रांसफ्यूजन मेडिसिन विभाग अध्यक्ष डॉ आदित्य शिवहरे ,डॉ ज्योतिकला डॉ श्वेता चौधरी सीएनओ लवली गेम्स व विभागीय कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।

Event no- Upums 2024E-148 Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, UPUMS, Saifai, Etawah, celebrated International Yoga Day on 21-06-2024 with overwhelming participation from faculty members (Dr. Jyotsana Singh, Officiating Dean, FPS), Dr. Kamal Pant, Dr. Vijay Kishor, Dr. Neha Dubey, Mr. Rajeev Yadav, Mr. Virendra Singh, Mohammad Alam, Mr. K.B. Ranjeet Singh and students (From Radiology, Optometry, Medical Lab, Physiotherapy, Emergency and Trauma, Cardiology, Operation Theatre, Blood Transfusion, Dialysis Technology Departments) , highlighting a collective dedication to health and well-being through yoga.
Activities:
1. Inaugural Address: The event commenced with an inaugural address emphasizing the significance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health.
2. Yoga Sessions: Yoga sessions encompassing various yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques. Participants, including faculty and students, actively followed the sessions, demonstrating their commitment to holistic well-being.

International Yoga Day
Celebration by various departments of UPUMS, Saifai.
International Yoga Day is celebrated globally on June 21st each year. This day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, following a proposal by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The date was chosen because it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and holds special significance in many parts of the world.
The primary aim of International Yoga Day is to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga, an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice originating in India, promotes holistic health and well-being. It encompasses various postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation techniques, which together help in enhancing physical fitness, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual growth.
Each year, International Yoga Day is celebrated with events and activities organized worldwide, including mass yoga sessions, workshops, and educational programs. These events often highlight the theme set by the United Nations, focusing on different aspects of yoga and its relevance to contemporary issues, such as health and wellness, sustainability, and peace.

विश्व रक्तदाता दिवस पर शुक्रवार को अमर उजाला फाउंडेशन, जिला अस्पताल और आयुर्विज्ञान विवि के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आयुर्विज्ञान विवि व जिला अस्पताल में रक्तदान शिविर लगेगा। हर साल 14 जून को विश्व रक्तदाता दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस बार जिला अस्पताल के रक्त कोष के साथ ही आयुर्विज्ञान विवि के रक्त कोष विभाग में कैंप लगवाया जा रहा है। आयुर्विज्ञान विवि में शिविर का शुभारंभ सुबह साढ़े नौ बजे मुख्य अतिथि कुलपति प्रो. डॉ. प्रभाति सिंह और चिकित्सा अधीक्षक प्रो. डॉ. एसपी सिंह करेंगे। वहीं जिला अस्पताल में शिविर का शुभारंभ मुख्य अतिथि डीएम अवनीश राय व एसएसपी संजय कुमार वर्मा, सीडीओ अजय कुमार गौतम, सीएमओ डॉ. गीताराम, जिला अस्पताल के सीएमएस डॉ. एमएम आर्या करेंगे।

The department of surgical gastroenterology at UPUMS, saifai performed the institutes first esophagectomy with gastric pull up for a post corrosive esophageal stricture.
The team comprising Dr Bharat Sangal (AP)and Dr Abhishek Gautam (AP) with support from anesthesia team under Dr Prashant Mishra and OT staff managed the case.
The patient was a 45 year old male who had attempted suicidal ingestion of acid 6 months back and had complete dysphagia and was on only FJ feeds.Patient was discharged on POD 5 uneventfully and is on regular follow up and tolerating normal oral diet.
The department of surgical gastroenterology at UPUMS continues to achieve greater heights by performing complex core GI cases .

The Department of Endocrine Surgery at UPUMS, Saifai performed an Endoscopic (scarless) thyroidectomy on Saturday. The team comprising of Dr Ganesh Bhat (AP), Dr Rizhin Sooraj (AP), Dr Sanchi (JR) and Dr Himalaya (intern) with support from anaesthesia team (Dr Matendra, Dr Pooja and Dr Thamaraikannan) and Dr Hitesh Sarda from gastrosurgery managed the case.
This case was of a 17yr old female with a right sided thyroid swelling. This procedure avoids a scar on the neck and the thyroidectomy is performed via the axillo-breast approach.
This surgery gives excellent cosmetic outcomes to those young women who want to avoid the stigma of a neck scar.
This achievement of the Endocrine Surgery Department at UPUMS, Saifai highlights the options available to patients to undergo thyroid surgeries without visible scars.

The recent International Otology Workshop (IOW) Conference at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, witnessed remarkable participation from UPUMS Saifai. Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Assistant Professor and Dr. Rohini Yadav, Senior Resident in the Department of ENT, represented the institute with notable contributions.
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav captivated the audience with his presentation on the "Anterior Tunneling Method in Underlay Tympanoplasty: A Comprehensive Analysis of Surgical and Hearing Outcomes." His session included detailed discussions and surgical video demonstrations, emphasizing the method's efficacy in enhancing surgical precision and improving hearing outcomes.
Dr. Rohini Yadav presented a poster on "Congenital Aural Atresia and Its Management," providing an in-depth analysis of the condition and latest management strategies. Additionally, she presented a paper titled "Comparative Study of the Placement of Graft Medial or Lateral to Handle of Malleus in Inlay Technique of Myringoplasty: A Retroprospective Study," offering valuable insights into optimal graft placement techniques.
The IOW conference served as an academic feast for otologists, featuring discussions on recent advances in stapes surgery, ossiculoplasty, cochlear implants, lateral skull base approaches and more. The active participation and commendable presentations reflect UPUMS Saifai's dedication to academic excellence and ongoing contributions to medical research.

Dr. Ajay Rajput (Asso. Professor) delivered his talk on ANKLE ARTHRODESIS & share his knowledge & experience with Nationally renouwed foot & Ankle surgeons.

The topic covered under awareness program include (1) Bio-medical waste management (2) Introduction of anaesthesia machine (3) Anaesthesia accessories (4) C-arm machine (5) Suturing pattern (6) Laparotomy instruments (7) Endoscopic instruments (8) ECG abnormalities. E-certificate provided to all the speakers. On this occasion Dr. J.P Mathuria (Dean), Dr.Jyotsana Singh (HOD) , Dr. Gajram Singh, Mr Rajeev Yadav, Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti, Mr.Dheeraj kumar, Mr. Mahendra Singh, Mohammad Alam, Mr. Virendra Singh, and Mr. Pawan Kumar all of dignities was present. Dr Mohd Faheem ( Professor and Head, Department of Neurosurgery, UPUMS, Saifai) delivered an insightful oral presentation entitled “ Outcome Analysis in Patients with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (GCS < 8): An Institutional Study" at a conference in Bangkok, Thailand, held from May 6-7, 2024. His talk focused on a comprehensive institutional study assessing the outcomes of patients who suffered from severe traumatic brain injuries, characterized by a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of less than 8 in rural setting of North India.
Dr. Faheem detailed the methodology, which involved an analysis of patient records over 2 years period, examining various factors influencing recovery and survival rates. He emphasized the importance of early intervention, the role of advanced neuroimaging techniques, and the effectiveness of multidisciplinary treatment approaches. Key findings highlighted that timely surgical intervention and intensive care management significantly improved patient outcomes.
The presentation also covered demographic data, including age and comorbidities, which were correlated with recovery trajectories. Dr. Faheem's study provided valuable insights into the prognostic indicators and highlighted areas needing further research. The session concluded with a discussion on the implications for clinical practice, suggesting protocols for improving patient care and potentially guiding future policies for managing severe traumatic brain injuries. His work was well-received, sparking engaging discussions among attending medical professionals.

Dr. Atul Mishra, Assistant Professor (Medical Physics), Department of Radiation Oncology, recently concluded the esteemed AROI Medical Physics Fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Dayanand Sharma, Professor and Head, Department of Medical Physics at Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC), Taramani, Chennai. This fellowship, held from May 2nd to May 30th, 2024, was a significant milestone in Dr. Mishra's professional journey.
During this period, Dr. Mishra also actively participated in the 4th Apollo Annual Proton Practicum from May 10th to 12th, 2024. This prestigious event brought together leading national faculties from Tata Memorial Centre and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Mumbai, alongside international experts from renowned institutions such as the Miami Cancer Institute, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Emory Proton Therapy Center, Atlanta, University of Florida Proton Therapy Centre, and MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston USA. These distinguished speakers delivered insightful scientific talks, enriching the practicum with their expertise.
On May 30th, 2024, Dr. Atul Mishra contributed to this vibrant exchange of knowledge by delivering a talk on "Analysis of different factors influencing the gamma passing rate in patient-specific quality assurance for intensity modulated proton therapy" to the Department of Medical Physics at Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Taramani, Chennai. His presentation underscored the critical importance of individualized quality assurance in advancing proton therapy, marking a fitting conclusion to his fellowship experience.

Event number - UPUMS 2024E-140 A value-added course on "Analytical Skill Development" was successfully conducted at the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, UPUMS, Saifai, from 9-05-2024 to 23-05-2024, spanning 16 hours. Dr. Neha Dubey, Faculty from the Department of Physiotherapy at FPS UPUMS, Saifai, Etawah, served as the VAC Course Coordinator. A total of 60 students were registered for the course via an online platform. The course was accommodated according to the student availability and scheduled across 6 days, with sessions ranging from 2-3 hours. It comprised of PPT presentations, interactive activities including self-made video presentation, problem-solving quizzes, brainstorming sessions, and hands-on activities. Certificates were awarded to students with over 80% attendance, signifying successful completion. The course significantly augmented student’s analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills, facilitating their application in personal, professional, and workplace settings.

शहरी स्वास्थ्य प्रशिक्षण केंद्र पर मनाया गया विश्व मासिक धर्म स्वच्छता दिवस
मासिक धर्म से जुड़े मिथकों को तोड़ना जरूरी- डॉ सुगंधी
महिलाओं ने खुलकर मासिक धर्म पर की चर्चा
इटावा 28 मई ,2024।
विश्व मासिक धर्म स्वच्छता दिवस के अवसर पर मंगलवार को यूपीयूएमएस के सामुदायिक चिकित्सा विभागाध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर डॉ पीके जैन के निर्देशन में शहरी स्वास्थ्य प्रशिक्षण केंद्र पर मासिक धर्म और स्वच्छता प्रबंधन पर जागरूकता वार्ता का आयोजन हुआ।
सामुदायिक चिकित्सा विभाग की असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर डॉ सुगंधी शर्मा ने कहा कि मासिक धर्म से जुड़े मिथकों को तोड़ना जरूरी है क्योंकि माहवारी कोई बीमारी या समस्या नहीं है यह एक जैविक प्रक्रिया है व नारीत्व का अभिन्न अंग है इसीलिए सामाजिक रूप से महावारी के दिनों में किशोरियों और महिलाओं को अलग बिस्तर या किचन में ना जाना व अन्य मिथकों को तोड़ना होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि 28 मई को इस दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य है की मासिक धर्म का चक्र 28 दिन का होता है और यह 5 दिन तक चलता है तो इसीलिए 5 वें महीने को चुना गया है। डॉ सुगंधी ने किशोरी व महिलाओं को बताया कि माहवारी के समय विशेष साफ सफाई का ध्यान रखें व जेनिटल अंगों को साफ
रखें व जन औषधि केंद्र पर बहुत ही कम दामों पर मिलने वाले बेहतर गुणवत्ता युक्त पैड का प्रयोग माहवारी में करें और पैड बदलने के बाद साबुन से अच्छे से हाथ धोएं और माहवारी में दर्द, अनियमित माहवारी होने पर डॉक्टर्स की सलाह अवश्य लें।
यूपीयूएमएस स्त्री रोग विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ कल्पना के निर्देशन में भी ओपीडी में आई महिलाओं को मासिक धर्म और स्वच्छता प्रबंधन के संदर्भ में जागरूक किया गया।
महिलाओं ने की मासिक धर्म पर खुलकर चर्चा
शहरी स्वास्थ्य प्रशिक्षण केंद्र पर आयोजित जागरूकता वार्ता में महिलाओं ने मासिक धर्म से संबंधित अपनी समस्याओं पर खुलकर चर्चा की और डॉक्टर्स सलाह ली।
कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित 35 वर्ष शाहिना ने बताया कि माहवारी के समय अक्सर मुझे जलन और खुजली की समस्या होती है आज इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से मुझे पता चला कि महावारी के समय पैड व साफ सूती कपड़ा का प्रयोग किस प्रकार करना है यह महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी मिली।
25 वर्षीय सीता ने कहा कि अनियमित माहवारी की समस्या अक्सर मुझे होती है आज डॉक्टर्स ने माहवारी के समय होने वाले संक्रमण के बारे में जो महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी मुझे दी उससे मैं साफ सफाई पर विशेष ध्यान दूंगी और पैड का इस्तेमाल करूंगी।
कार्यक्रम में डॉ प्रत्यक्षा, डॉ अरुणिमा, डॉ सुप्रिया, डॉ स्नेहा, डॉ धनंजय, डॉ पारूल, मेडिकल सोशल वर्कर अंकुर, विधि उपस्थित रहे।

Event No- UPUMS 2024 E-136 Report on the Celebration of Emergency Medical Service Provider Week at Department of Emergency and Trauma Care Technology, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, UPUMS, Saifai
The Department of Emergency and Trauma Care Technology, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai, celebrated Emergency Medical Service Provider Week on dated 21/05/2023 with great enthusiasm and dedication. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including the, Dr. J.P. Mathuriya Dean, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Dr. Jyotsana Singh Head of the Department, Mr. Virendra Singh Faculty & Programme organizer, and Mr. Pawan Kumar Faculty.
Programme starts with “Saraswati Vandana” and motivational Speech by Dean, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences. The celebration featured active participation from students of Diploma in Emergency and Trauma Care Technology 2021, 2022 & 2023 Batch. They showcased their talents and knowledge through various competitive programs such as, Intradepartmental Seminar, a quiz competition, a poster competition and a Rangoli Competition,. These activities not only highlighted the creative and intellectual capabilities of the students but also emphasized the importance of emergency medical services.
Dr. Jyotsana Singh, the Head of the Department (HOD), Mr. Virendra Singh, Faculty Member & organizer of the program, and Mr. Pawan Kumar, a faculty member, delivered insightful lectures related to emergency medical services. Their speeches focused on the critical role of emergency responders and the latest advancements and challenges in the field. Hands on Training on CPR and Emergency Transportation Methods are provided to all students.
Additionally, four students from the 2021 batch – Kausalendra Singh Chauhan, Ajeet Kumar Maurya, Yash Pratap Singh, and Hina Vashishth – presented their detailed presentations. Their topics covered various aspects of emergency medical services, providing valuable information and perspectives that were appreciated by all attendees.
The event successfully highlighted the significance of emergency medical services and the dedication of those who work in this essential field. It also provided a platform for students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge, contributing to their professional growth and preparedness for future challenges.
In conclusion, the celebration of Emergency Medical Service Provider Week at the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, UPUMS, Saifai, was a resounding success. (Event no-UPUMS2024E-122 Department of Emergency and Trauma, organised Emergency Medical Service Provider day on 22nd May in lecture hall trauma center UPUMS. In this event, Dr (Prof)Prashant Mishra HOD emergency told that in management of trauma patients need of emergency medical services provider like our doctors, nursing staf,paramedical staff ,EMT technician ,ward attendent, Ambulance drivers nd UP police play a pivotal role. On this occasion, MS Dr (Prof)SP Singh told that doctors,paramedical staff,guards, police department have an important role in the management of trauma patients, and he also told that good Samaritans should be given training so that they can also help trauma patients on the road side. He also told about the basic points in the management of trauma patients at the scene site. On this occasion, medical officer ,non-PG JRs ,Nursing staffs, security guards, Lab technicians, Ward attendents,MTS staff,108 Ambulance drivers, UPEIDA service personal and police chowki incharge were present, and other medical and para medical students were present. In the beginning of program MS Prof SP Singh was welcomed by HOD Emergency nd Trauma. After this around 36 persons, including CMOs, MOs, Non PGJRs, nursing staffs, security guards, UPIEDA personal and police department were felicitated individually by Medical Superintendent Professor SP Singh and HOD Prof.Prashant Mishra .On behalf of Medical officers CMO Dr.Hirakant Singh recieved momento . A Poster competition of Paramedical students was also organised and winners received certificate nd prizes. Judges of the Poster competition Dr.Matendra Yadav,Dr.Najmul and Dr Virendra (faculty Dip Emergency nd) were also felicitated with memento. The whole programme was managed by HOD Prof.Dr.Prashant Mishra ,Dr.Raj Kumar Yadav senior medical officer ,Dr.Vishwadeepak Dy.M.S.and Rajmangal Yadav (Senior Dental Surgeon) played a major role in the organisation of this program. Anchoring of programme was done by Divya Verma, Abhishek Maurya nd Minihaj Ahmad Mbbs students. HOD Emergency was felicitated by a memento given by MS Prof SP Singh.

विषय : मार्च माह के दिनांक 22 एवम अप्रैल माह के दिनांक 2, 12, 19, 23, एवम 26 को पैरामेडिकल साइंस संकाय के सभी विभाग, फार्मेसी संकाय, एवम नर्सिंग संकाय के छात्र/ छात्राओं की Pharmacovogilance program of India , एवम Materiovigilance program of India के अंतर्गत दवाओं तथा मेडिकल डिवाइस से होने वाले दुष्प्रभावों से संबंधित रिपोर्टिंग की ट्रेनिंग के संबंध में:
प्रतिवर्ष की भांति इस वर्ष भी मार्च माह के दिनांक 23 एवम अप्रैल माह के क्रमशः दिनांक 2,12,19,23,एवम 26 को विश्वविद्यालय के फार्माकोलॉजी विभाग में संचालित एडवर्स ड्रग रिएक्शन मॉनिटरिंग सेंटर द्वारा ट्रॉमा सेंटर के सेमिनार हाल (समय अपरान्ह 3.00 से 5.00 बजे) MvPI, PvPI, एवम दवाओं तथा मेडिकल डिवाइसेज के इस्तेमाल से होने वाले दुष्प्रभावों तथा उनकी रिपोर्टिंग से संबंधित ट्रेनिंग का आयोजन किया गया। ट्रेनिंग में विश्वविद्यालय के पैरामेडिकल साइंस संकाय के, नर्सिंग संकाय तथा फार्मेसी संकाय के छात्र/छात्राओं द्वारा प्रतिभाग किया गया। कार्यक्रम के आरम्भ में ए. एम. सी . कोर्डिनेटर डॉक्टर आशा पाठक के द्वारा दवाओं तथा मेडिकल डिवाइसेज के दुष्प्रभावों तथा उनकी रिपोर्टिंग की जरूरत के बारे में बताया गया। इसके पश्चात
डॉक्टर पूजा तथा डॉक्टर अमरेश के द्वारा pharmacovigilance program of India तथा materiovigilance program of India के बारे में बताया गया। इसके साथ ही दवाओं तथा मेडिकल डिवाइसेज के इस्तेमाल से होने वाले दुष्प्रभावों की रिपोर्टिंग से संबंधित फॉर्म को भरने की ट्रेनिंग दी गई।
इस दौरान फार्माकोलॉजी विभाग के सभी पीजी रेजिडेंट के द्वारा सहयोग प्रदान किया गया।
कार्यक्रम के अन्त में ए. एम. सी. कोर्डिनेटर डॉक्टर आशा पाठक ने प्रतिभागियों के द्वारा पूछे गए प्रश्नों के उत्तर दिए।
