The School of Forensic Science (SFS), NFSU, Gandhinagar Campus is transcending with a resolute to create skilled human resource for criminal investigation through world class teaching, research, training and innovations.
The students of National Forensic Sciences University, School of Forensic Science, M. Sc. Forensic Science of Semester-III, Specialisation II (Forensic Biotechnology) visited the "Sewage Treatment Plant, Gandhinagar" on 13th December 2023.
This visit helped them practically observe and understand the workings of sewage treatment which they studied in theory as part of Environmental Biotechnology. The Sargasan STP is a crucial facility for Gandhinagar, treating sewage generated from the city and surrounding areas. The plant utilizes a 10 MLD C-Tech Technology base STP to purify the wastewater before releasing it back into the environment. This plant functions on the SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) methodology.
NFSU Students of B.Sc.-M.Sc. Forensic Science (Integrated) Program (Semester-I) & M.Sc. Multimedia Forensics (Semester-III) at School of Forensic Science (SFS), NFSU Gandhinagar visited the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar on 14th December 2023 (Thursday).
The students attended an enlightening talk on the “An introduction to Plasma and its applications” delivered by the Outreach Division. Students gained practical insights through the demonstrations of many plasma experiments, designed in house, and by visiting the SST-1 (Tokamak) facility. Students also had fruitful interactions with other Scientists at IPR.
Students of B. Sc. -M. Sc. Forensic Science (Integrated) Program at the School of Forensic Science (SFS), NFSU Gandhinagar visited the Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), Gandhinagar on 8th December 2023 (Friday).
The students attended an enlightening talk on “Biotechnology, its applications and career paths” given by faculties at GBU. Students gained practical insights by visiting different biotech laboratories and facilities and also had fruitful interactions with other faculties at GBU.

The Guests of Honor were: Shri Arvind Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court; Council of Ministers from Govt. of Gujarat: Shri Rajendra Trivedi, Minister of Law & Justice; Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Home, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Union Home Secretary; and Mr. Vincent Ssempijja, Hon’ble Minister of Defence & Veteran Affairs, Uganda.
Padma Shri, Dr. J. M. Vyas, Vice-Chancellor of NFSU said that Gold Medals conferred to 65 students from the batch 2019-21 and 2020-22. The Degrees conferred to 1132 students of the University and 10 students conferred Ph.D. degrees and one student conferred with D.Sc. degree. Gold Medals presented to the bright students of NFSU by the Chief Guest, Shri Amit Shah ji performed Bhumi-Pujan at the new site allotted by Govt. of Gujarat and inaugurated the International Training Centre and three Centre of Excellence in DNA Forensics, Cyber Security and Investigation & Forensic Psychology, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in the NFSU Campus.Mr. Vincent Ssempijja, Hon’ble Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Uganda, who was especially leading a six-member delegation attended the Convocation. In addition, a delegation from Zimbabwe, the Governor of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, and delegates from many other countries such as Oman and Rwanda also attended the function.During the function, dignitaries from various fields; Members of the Board of Governors; Shri C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar-NFSU;

Students of M.Sc Forensic Science (Semester II), School of Forensic Science, NFSU visited Institute of Plasma Research FCIPT,Gandhinagar on 21st July,2022 and learned about the material sciences & advanced instrumentation.
System for Shoeprint and Fingerprint Examination - TrasoScan is a versatile system for examination of shoeprints, fingerprints, documents and other flat surfaces. Shoe soles and objects up to 22 cm of height can be scanned too using a close up lens. Objects as large as 107 x 71 mm can be displayed live on the screen.High illumination variability is provided by 3 pairs of multispectral LED panels illuminating the scene at angles of 12°, 45°, and 60°.
