Story of our 4 Sankranti babies..

1st and 2nd babies..both born to mothers with severe preeclampsia and had growth restriction with deranged blood supply (Doppler values) with decreased liquor level. Both weighed only 1.6kgs at birth and are currently doing well😊

3rd baby..mother with severe preeclampsia and heart disease (Atrial Septal Defect)..this baby too had growth restriction and weighed 2.3kgs at birth..and is currently thriving 😊 This case required the expert hands of Dr. Aman Sinha for intra-op management.

4th baby..thankfully no issues with mother and baby 🤗 delivered normally at term without any complications.

Yesterday's health camp at Shubhkamna Heart Hospital and Maternity Centre. We had a huge turn up and had the opportunity to provide the patients with free medicines and free lab tests.
Grateful for this opportunity, and ever thankful to each and every Shubhkamna team member who made this possible. 🙏

It's cases like these that reinforce our faith in our profession.
This patient came to Shubhkamna Heart Hospital and Maternity Centre , having delivered outside. Unfortunately she suffered from a huge cervical tear extending into the uterus during her delivery, and was bleeding profusely. Her hemoglobin was 3.5 on admission! Since the tear was beyond repair, she was taken for emergency obstetric hysterectomy (uterus removal). After literally a race against time, we were able to save her.
This picture is from when she came back for follow-up.. Smiles all around 😊

Every achievement starts with the decision to try.
Recently we undertook back-to-back two very high risk cases, which previously would have been referred to higher centres outside. All this was possible only under the expertise of our cardiologist Dr. Aman Sinha and our anesthetists.

First case - a lady with 8 months pregnancy with PAPVC ( Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection), a rare cardiac defect with abnormal pulmonary venous drainage into the right atrium instead of the left. The patient underwent Caesarean Section under epidural anesthesia and delivered a healthy baby boy. Both mother and baby are doing well.

Second case - a lady with just 7 months pregnancy with Ebstein anomaly, again a rare congenital heart defect with abnormality of the Tricuspid valve. This lady had lost two previous issues at this very gestational age, so we decided to deliver her before there was undue risk to the mother and baby. Her oxygen saturation never rose above 80%, but it was her sheer willpower that she carried the pregnancy this far till the baby was viable. She too underwent Caesarean section under epidural anesthesia and delivered a tiny baby girl weighing just 885g at birth. The baby is currently thriving in the NICU and will be discharged soon.

Thank you to our whole obstetric and cardiac team at Shubhkamna Hospital, who cared for them in both the pre-op and post-op periods. And thank you to our patients for keeping their trust in us. 😊🙏

We are extremely proud to announce the start of all gynaecological Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic surgeries at Shubhkamna Heart Hospital and Maternity Centre.
Less pain, less bleeding, minimal scars and minimum possible hospital stay.
This patient had a long history of abnormal uterine bleeding, not responding to medication. Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy was done, and the patient was walking about the next day! She was discharged within 36 hours of surgery.

We don't believe in starting slow.
We inaugurated the OT at Shubhkamna Heart Hospital and Maternity Centre with a high risk case on the first day itself.
This patient had AUB not controlled by medication since years, with a history of previous 3 caesarean sections and a cholecystectomy. She also had diabetes and anemia.
Total Abdominal Hysterectomy done..one of my most difficult yet interesting cases.
She was discharged on day 3 post-op itself!
This was possible only because of the concerted efforts of the whole team.
Hope we are able to serve all our patients with same zeal in the future 😊

Happy and proud to be a part of Vardaan hospital and maternity centre - providing comprehensive obstetric care and round the clock ICU services for all high risk pregnancies and critical obstetric cases, which were previously being referred elsewhere.

This patient came to us at 8 months of pregnancy with complaints of cough and breathlessness, being a previously diagnosed case of Rheumatic Heart Disease. She was diagnosed with Severe Mitral Stenosis (Mitral Valve diameter 0.6 sq cm) with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension (PA systolic pressure 105mmHg) with Dilated Left Atrium by our Cardiologist Dr. Aman Sinha. In view of severe fetal IUGR and imminent feto-maternal compromise, a preterm LSCS was done under excellent cardiac supervision by Dr. Aman Sinha. Intra-op and post-op, managing her vitals was a challenge but we were determined. She delivered a healthy baby girl weighing 1.7 kg, who is currently admitted under our neonatologist Dr. B.D. Sharma in view of her prematurity.
Finally discharging the patient on day 5-post LSCS in stable condition. Baby will be discharged in the next couple of days.
Patient can now be posted for PTMC (Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty) after 6 weeks.
Wonderful feeling indeed. 😊

A case of ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy -
Patient Mrs XYZ presented with 2 months amenorrhea with severe pain abdomen. USG was done immediately and she was diagnosed with ruptured right tubal ectopic pregnancy i.e. the pregnancy was in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus.
She was immediately taken for laparotomy. Intra-op, there was approx 1 litre hemoperitoneum (blood collected inside the abdomen). The right tube had to be removed (Salpingectomy). She required 2 units blood transfusion post-op.
Thanks to efforts of the entire team at Vardaan hospital and maternity centre patient recovered well and was discharged on post-op day 3. 🙏
Hence the importance of dating scans in early pregnancy!
