🧘♂️Steps:
Start by sitting on the mat with your legs extended straight in front of you.
Bend your right knee and bring the sole of the right foot to the inner left thigh.
Keep the left leg extended and the foot flexed, grounding the left thigh into the mat.
Inhale and lengthen your spine, lifting your arms overhead.
Exhale and hinge at the hips, reaching forward toward the left foot.
Hold onto the left foot, shin, or place your hands on the mat beside the left leg.
Keep the spine long and chest open. Engage the quadriceps of the extended leg.
If comfortable, gently draw the forehead toward the left knee.
Breathe deeply and hold the pose for 30 seconds to a minute.
Inhale to come up, switch sides, and repeat the sequence on the other leg.
🧘♂️ Tips:
Keep the extended leg active by pressing the heel away and flexing the foot.
Focus on leading with the chest rather than rounding the spine.
Modify the pose by using a strap around the sole of the foot if reaching it is challenging.
Listen to your body, and only go as far as feels comfortable. The goal is a gentle stretch, not strain.
