Congratulations on the outstanding performance of IMSEC MBA students.

Under the umbrella of IIC-IMSEC, Innovation Ambassador, Dr. Siddharth Vats, delivered a talk to the students of Biotechnology on the topic ‘Potential of Innovations in Biotechnology’. Dr. Siddharth started the talk about the role of IIC-IMSEC in fostering innovation amongst the student. He also shared the great vision of Director IMSEC, Prof Vikram Bali about making the IMSEC as the center of innovation.
The talk gave students insight about entrepreneurship and innovations, pathway to commercialization, support mechanism, key policy initiatives by the government and private sectors for research and grants and fellowships available for students in India and abroad. The talk was attended by students as well as faculties from the Department of Biotechnology.
Students were happy to know that IMSEC students have filed many patents. The talk proved to be highly motivational and beneficial for the students who raised multiple queries about the post-graduation scholarship and ways to publish good quality research papers. The event was coordinated by Dr. Indu Bhatt, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology.

Under the ‘Green Initiative Drive’ being carried out by Biotechnology Department, Dr. Indu Bhatt, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology will be delivering an Expert Talk on ‘The Green Initiatives - The Road to Environment Sustainability’ on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 01:40 PM to 2:40 PM in the Seminar Hall, A-Block. The objective of the talk is to spread awareness about the green initiatives that aim to preserve and improve the environment.

GEMS Society of Biotechnology Department is planning to conduct a Technical Essay Writing Competition based on ‘The Application of Biotechnology in Human Welfare’ theme on Monday, May 29, 2023 from 03:40 PM to 4:40 PM. The event will give students an opportunity to demonstrate their writing talents and enhance biotechnology knowledge.

SANGRAM-2023
Sangram is an Intracollege game of IMSEC, which has held every year in their ground and this year it will played from 26th May to 28th May 2023. In this event every year all branches of B. Tech, MBA and MCAs more than 1000 students participate in many sporting events like Basketball, Football, volleyball , 100mt run etc. All the students with full enthusiasm make this event successful.

The biotechnology department of IMS Engineering College organized an alumni talk on “The scope of Environment Impact Assessment and job opportunities for biotechnology students” on 12th May 2023 at 3:00 pm in online mode by a 2006-09 batch alumnus of the department, Mr. Manish Yadav, Manager (Environment) Central Mine Planning Design Institute, a subsidiary of coal India Ltd. The students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year actively participated in the lecture.
Mr. Manish introduced the students with his academic and professional journey after completing B.Tech from IMS Engineering College which motivated the students. He explained in detail the need, value and process of EIA in the present scenario of development. Students gained knowledge about the human resource requirement in this field. Mr. Manish motivated the students to take up careers as EIA coordinators, Functional area expert etc. The lecture was organized and coordinated by Dr. Shomini Parashar, Assistant Professor in the Biotechnology Department.

Department of Biotechnology is organising an Alumni Talk on 'Scope of EIA and Job Opportunities for Biotechnology Students' on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM onwards. The Speaker of this talk is Mr. Manish Yadav, Manager (Environment), Coal India Limited. He is an Alumnus of 2005-2009 B.Tech Biotechnology Batch.

SukhE- Musical Doctorz performance in VIBGYOR-2K23 at IMSEC!!

GEMS Society of Biotechnology Department conducted ‘Bio-Fiesta’- a Technical Fest on Friday, April 21, 2023. Students from the entire college enthusiastically participated in the various events such as Debate Competition, Group Discussion and Extempore. The students thoroughly enjoyed the event and showcased their inter-personal skills.

On day 2 of the five day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Methodology and Publication Ethics’ that is jointly organised by Department of Biotechnology and Department of Computer Science and is being held in online mode from January 30, 2023 to February 03, 2023, Session 1 was delivered by Dr. Prashant Upadhyay, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, Grater Noida. He spoke on the topic ‘Scientific Conduct’ wherein he gave a comprehension on the common misconducts performed by researchers such as data fabrication and plagiarism. He gave multiple examples where data fabrication resulted in legal action against the researchers. The moderator in this session was Ms. Neha Chauhary Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.
Session 2 was delivered by Dr. Suresh Chandra Phulara, Faculty, GB Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pauri, Garhwal, Uttarakhand. He presented his talk on the topic ‘Research Methods and Approaches for an Ethical Publication’. He gave a detailed account of ethics in scientific conduct, various methods of research, random assignment in experiments and related content. The moderator in this session was Dr. Piyush Parkhey, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology.
An active participation of more than 150 participants was seen in both the sessions.

In day 2 of the ongoing five days FDP on 'Research Methodology and Publication Ethics' being held from January 30, 2023 to February 5, 2023, session 2 (02:00 PM to 04:00 PM) is being delivered by Dr. Suresh Chandra Phulara, Faculty, GB Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pauri, Garhwal, Uttarakhand.

In day 2 of the ongoing five days FDP on 'Research Methodology and Publication Ethics' being held from January 30, 2023 to February 5, 2023, session 1 (11:00 AM to 01:00 PM) will be delivered by Dr. Prashant Upadhyay, Faculty, School of Engineering & Technology, Sharda University.

The five day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Methodology and Publication Ethics’ jointly being organised by Department of Biotechnology and Department of Computer Science is being held in online mode from January 30, 2023 to February 03, 2023. The inauguration of the FDP was held on January 30, 2023 at 11 AM. The opening remarks of the FDP were given by Dr. Sonia Juneja, HoD-Computer Science Department wherein she welcomed all the speakers and participants and introduced the programme. She also extended her thanks to all the members involved in the FDP. Prof. Dr. Vikram Bali, Director, IMS Engineering College also extended his welcome to all the speakers and participants. He presented his valuable insights on the topic and motivated the participants and coordinators of the programme. Thereafter, Dr. Avinash Singh, HoD Biotechnology Department also presented his views on the FDP and congratulated the coordinating team.
The inaugural lecture in Session 1, Day 1 was delivered by Dr. GN Nikhil, Faculty, Dr. BR Ambedkar National institute of Technology, Jalandhar. He spoke on the topic ‘Research Skills to be developed if you are an academician’ wherein he guided the participants about being an observant, skilful and successful researcher. The moderator in Session 1, Day 1 was Dr. Indu Bhatt, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology.
The second expert talk of day 1 of the FDP was delivered by Dr. Rakesh Yadav, Associate Professor, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow on the topic ‘Skills Required to Write a Worthy research Paper’. The moderator in Session 2, Day 1 was Ms. Neha Chaudhary Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. An active participation of more than 160 participants was seen in both the sessions.

Delighted to share that Dr. Rakesh Yadav will be delivering his talk on 'Skills Required to Write a Worthy Research Paper' on day 1 (02:00 PM to 04:40 PM) of the FDP on 'Research Methodology and Publication Ethics' being held from January 30, 2023 to February 03, 2023.
