A young man had a small, harmless tumor on his eyeball that started growing and sprouting thick black hairs. These types of tumors, called limbal dermoids, can contain tissues normally found in other parts of the body, like fat, connective tissue, sweat glands, bone, or even brain tissue. He had the tumor since birth and it didn’t bother him for a long time. Usually, these tumors don’t affect vision because they don’t cover the center of the cornea. However, as his tumor grew, it began to cause discomfort and vision problems, so he decided to have it removed.

A 10-year-old girl from Dadar has trichophagia, a rare condition where she pulls out and eats her own hair. She had heavy bleeding and stomach pain for over a year. Her parents didn't know about her condition and only took her to the hospital when her stomach pain got worse.
The girl's mother said, My daughter's stomach pain got worse over time and didn't stop even with medication. We saw many doctors but none could help. We were shocked to find out there was hair in her stomach.
Aside from the stomach pain, the girl had no other symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or weight loss.
At Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, a CT scan showed a mass of hair in her stomach. Some of it had entered her small intestine. Dr. Parag Karkera, a pediatric surgeon at the hospital, explained that hair doesn't dissolve and stays in the digestive system, forming a ball or mass that keeps growing. This is very rare in children.
