Dhanurasana or the Bow Pose is a great asana to practice if you are looking to perfect your posture and increase your flexibility. ๐ธ

Dhanurasana also known as the bow pose due to the shape the body takes while performing the pose is a backbend asana. ๐น It is a powerful pose that will work on all parts of your back simultaneously.

Shalabhasana (Locust Pose) is a preparatory pose to all back bending asanas as it helps to strengthen the core and the lower back which are foundational. ๐ธ
You can include this backbend asana in your yoga flow once you're comfortable doing the forward bend yoga poses and have gained good spine flexibility. ๐ธ

In Sanskrit, โShalabhโ means grasshopper. Shalabhasana is a beginner level prone balancing pose.๐งโโ๏ธ
Since this dynamic pose requires your body to move against gravity you need strength and a good amount of energy to practice it. ๐ผ

Makarasana is normally done after an intense yoga sequence involving poses like Ustrasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Adho Mukha Svanasana, Shalabasana, etc,. ๐ธ
It is considered a restorative pose, in which the โค๏ธ heart rate is reduced with the relaxation of the entire muscular system and calming of the mind. ๐ธ

In Sanskrit, โMakaraโ means crocodile๐ Unlike Savasana, Makarasana is considered as the only relaxation pose in which it is not possible to fall asleep due to the upright position of the neck and the head.
In this pose, one lies down on the tummy face down, spreading the legs out as much as possible and bringing the hands folded at the elbows and placed below the forehead for support.

Uttana Shishosana or the puppy pose resembles a puppy taking an intense stretch forward with its entire body.
Though in this pose, the stretch is intense with the body on all fours, yet the body feels relaxed and is considered a posture to relax the muscles after an intense practice of other poses related to the shoulders and the back.

Uttana Shishosana also known as the Puppy Pose gives the body an intense stretch while relaxing it at the same time. In Sanskrit "Uttanaโ means Intense and โShishโ means Puppy.

Our first yoga brunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with all the yogis.
