January 12 began to be celebrated as National Youth Day in honor of Swami Vivekanand who was born on this very day. Swami Vivekanand was a renowned Hindu monk who believed in people, especially the youth, and that the future of the country along with the world can be improved if its people are true, selfless and educated. GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION Mahatma Gandhi, a man who never believed in fight, but he always chose what was right.” Gandhi Jayanti is a national festival celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi born on 2nd October 1869. He is also known in India as the “Father of the Nation”. The day of Gandhi Jayanti is dedicated as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He was a great leader of the Indian Independence Movement. He followed the principles of Non-violence and peace throughout his life. This day is also observed as International Day of Non-violence. Mahatma Gandhi was a simple, but determined person and he had a mass following. KIIT college of Education celebrated this day with great enthusiasm. Many students presented their thoughts and Poems on Gandhi ji through videos. Prof. Indira Dhull, Director, and Dr. Anshu Radha, Principal and all faculty members motivated and appreciated the students for their efforts and presentation.
