1. When should I first bathe my newborn?
It's best to wait until the cord falls off to give your newborn their first bath. This delay helps maintain their body temperature and prevents skin dryness. It also allows you to have some recovery time and get used to handling your baby.
2. How do I give my newborn a bath?
While your baby's umbilical cord stump is still attached (usually for the first 7-10days), you should stick to sponge baths or topping and tailing. Make sure the room is warm, close doors and windows to avoid airflow and rapid changes in temperature, and keep your baby wrapped in a towel. Use warm water and cotton wool for gentle cleaning of eyes, ears, face, neck, hands, bottom, and ge***al area. Avoid using soap during the first month of life. Once the cord stump falls off, you can give your baby bath with luke warm water or sponge and luke warm water depending on temperature outside.
3. How often should I give my new baby a bath?
Doctors typically recommend bathing your baby daily. However, if you prefer to bathe them every alternate day, that's perfectly fine. In between baths, you can perform topping and tailing, which involves gentle cleaning of specific areas to keep your baby fresh and comfortable.
Remember that every baby is unique, and it's essential to be gentle and attentive during bath time, ensuring your baby is comfortable and safe.

In the world of parenting, misconceptions can spread like wildfire, often leading to well-intentioned but misguided practices. Let's debunk some of these prevalent myths to ensure the best care for your newborn. Contrary to the belief that infants need daily baths, experts advise against it, as their delicate skin can become dry and irritated. Teething, while uncomfortable, doesn't cause fever; viral infections are more likely culprits. Baby walkers, touted as aids for early walking, can delay motor development and are discouraged. Lastly, while regular bowel movements are important, babies don't always need to poo daily.
For a deeper dive into the reasons behind these myths, you can consult with our expert who can provide valuable insights to guide your parenting journey.

If your little one has a cough, you’re probably wondering what’s causing it. Although a cough can sound awful, it's usually not a sign of a serious condition. In fact, coughing is a healthy and useful reflex that helps clear the airways in the throat and chest. Most of the time, your baby or toddler’s cough can be managed with simple home remedies. In some cases, however, your child’s cough may be a sign of something more serious and might require treatment from their healthcare provider.

Some potential problems aren't readily seen, all newborns are tested for certain conditions, including metabolic disorders.
A metabolic disorder is one that gets in the way of how the body breaks down food, absorbs nutrients, or handles enzymes. Left untreated, some of these disorders could affect a baby's development.
By screening for these disorders at birth, healthcare providers are then able to treat them as soon as possible. In many cases, simply finding out that your baby has the condition and making diet or lifestyle changes will allow your child to cope with the metabolic disorder and live a healthy life.

Germs do not travel on rays of light from one person to another. Conjunctivitis is generally spread by direct contact. Simply stated, you must touch someone or something to become infected. For example, someone who has conjunctivitis rubs their eye and touches a doorknob which is later touched by someone who then rubs their own eye.

Level 1: Requires Support
Level 1 ASD is the mildest form of autism. Children with level 1 ASD have a hard time communicating appropriately with others. For example, they may not say the right thing at the right time or be able to read social cues and body language.
Level 2: Requires Substantial Support
People with ASD level 2 will have more obvious problems with verbal and social communication than those diagnosed with level 1. Likewise, they will find it harder to change focus or move from one activity to the next.
Level 3: Requires Very Substantial Support
Level 3 is the most severe form of autism. Children in this category will have many of the same behaviors as those with levels 1 and 2, but to a more extreme degree.
