🔥🚒 Safety First at GD Goenka Signature School 🚒🔥

We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our scheduled fire drill on Monday, October 16, 2023! 🙌 The safety and well-being of our students always take top priority, and this drill was a crucial step in ensuring their preparedness for emergencies.

Kudos to our dedicated staff and amazing students who showcased a solid grasp of safety procedures, making the drill run like clockwork.

But that's not all! 🚒👨‍🚒 We had the local fire brigade team join us for a demonstration, enhancing our students' awareness of fire safety. Knowledge is power, and we're committed to equipping our students with the tools they need to stay safe.

GDGSS FRENCH class believes Learning by doing, like playing Bingo in French, is an immersive and engaging way to grasp a new language. Through interactive games, vocabulary and pronunciation naturally become part of the experience, making the learning process enjoyable and effective. Playing Bingo in French not only sharpens language skills but also fosters a sense of accomplishment, encouraging continuous learning through hands-on activities.

Bringing "Sewa Bhav" (the spirit of selfless service and compassion) GDGSS organized the community outreach program in association with NGO bagiya Foundation for Welfare located in the heart of gurugram.

The activity was to collect and distribute used/unused books to the underprivileged. The aim was to take up community service and to sensitize the students towards the hard life of the underprivileged people and to foster in them a spirit of caring and sharing.

All in all, this opportunity to serve the community was indeed a great learning experience for the students and at GDGSS we celebrate these traditions and values of selfless service to make the world a better place for all.

The Pre-primary wing of GD Goenka Signature School celebrated ‘Orange Colour Day’ on September 27, 2023.

The classrooms across Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten dotted hues of orange with Orange Art, where the little ones created beautiful orange-themed hand-outs, which were designed to help the young learners to identify and differentiate various shades of orange.

To enhance the oratory skills of the students, a Show and Tell activity was conducted in the classes where they brought an orange colour item and spoke few lines on the same.

An orange corner was created in every class displaying various toys, fruits and vegetables, which helped the students to sort and classify objects based on the colour, aimed at reinforcing their cognitive skills.

An engaging story-time session was conducted by the mentors to help the little ones to co-relate colours to the real life.

The students came dressed in beautiful glowing orange dresses, making the environment bright and lifting everyone’s spirits.

It was an amazing hands-on learning experience for the students.

अंग्रेजी भाषा के बढ़ते चलन और हिंदी की अनदेखी को रोकने के लिए हर साल 14 सितंबर को देशभर में हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है। आजादी मिलने के दो साल बाद 14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा में एक मत से हिंदी को राजभाषा घोषित किया गया था और इसके बाद से हर साल 14 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाने लगा।

To commemorate the birth of Shri Krishna, a special assembly to celebrate Janmashatmi was conducted on Wednesday, September 06, 2023. Students from Grade Nur to II dressed up in traditional attires making the celebration alive with flutes, crowns and chunris.

Students from Grade I B and II A presented an exhibition showcasing the life journey of Shri Krishna through a ballad.

A special dance presentation added to the serenity of the event and the little ones performed with full energy and enthusiasm.

Everyone present at the assembly applauded the efforts of the students.

On Aug 23, India scripted history as Chandrayaan-3 to made a touch down near the south polar region of the Moon. After soft landing, Chandrayaan-3's rover moved on the Moon’s surface. This rover bears the monumental responsibility of leaving behind imprints that resonate with India's essence.

An activity ' *Create Your Own Meals'* for the better understanding of *Balanced Diet* is designed over the display board in grade 3B. Its a working display board where children picked up the food items of their choice and put them over their meal plate.

GD Goenka Signature School, celebrated the 77th Independence Day.

The entire school was festooned with the colours of the Indian flag. The classrooms and corridors were decorated with various works of art by the students as a part of the Inter-Class Tricolour Class Décor Competition.

The Independence Day Celebration commenced with the hoisting of the Tiranga. As the tricolor fluttered high in the sky, all stood up and raised their voices in unison to sing the National Anthem. This was followed by a spectacular confluence of patriotism, melody-dipped music and electrifying performances by the students.

The budding flute player and percussionists created a riveting symphony of musical notes and left an indelible imprint in everyone’s hearts.

The little ones from the Pre-Primary Wing came dressed in ethnic wear and presented a special assembly where they spoke about the values they would like to imbibe from the famous personalities of India.

The assembly concluded with an enthralling dance presentation to spread the message of unity in diversity and peace.

Before we let our brain figures out what next we are doing is always To exercise in the mornings!

To encourage imagination and creativity and to develop socio-emotional skills in our students , a *Pretend Play* activity was organised for our little ones from the Pre-Primary Wing of GD Goenka Signature School.

Colourful fun stations like Live Music Station, Food and Ice-cream stalls dotted the KG classroom.

As the students enthusiastically hopped from one station to another, they also enjoyed using play money to buy things from various play-stations, giving them a peek into counting money and using currency.

Students spread the cheer around with their enthusiasm and smiles.

With the aim of assessing the learner’s knowledge about current affairs and awareness of the world events an Inter-house GK Quiz was conducted for the students of Grades III – V of GD Goenka Signature School on July 28, 2023.

The Quiz comprised of four informative and mind-boggling rounds for all the four Houses.

The participants brimming with enthusiasm and exuberance vied with each other to answer questions that required in-depth knowledge of History, Science and the Cultural Heritage of India. All the rounds were keenly contested.

This exciting contest was won by Radhakrishnan House followed by Tagore House grabbing the second position. There was tie for the third position between Teresa and Vivekananda House.

THINK-PAIR-SHARE - activity conducted on the topic - Teeth and Tongue, to give students the opportunity to feel more comfortable in sharing their thoughts on the questions posed. In addition fostering their social skills, this strategy also improves students' speaking and listening skills. When pairs brainstormed together, each student learnt from their partner.
