The Highlight this Season was
“The Books Selection”

Books selection is the “most most most” challenging task of The Bookyardigans Book Club!

Fortunately, the success rate has been close to 99%

Almost all the books selected and recommended have been loved and discussed well.

This time again we experimented with new genres and styles and children just loved that.

That feeling when you realize that YES- this was a great selection of books, the sessions had new energy and over enthusiastic participants, the discussion was a level up and added great value to each individual’s character- is the most satisfying one and a reason enough to keep going 😊🙏

However, can’t miss saying:

The Bookyardigans Book Club Season 7 - another Season, another 3 months of reading and discussing and talking and sharing our inner thoughts, different perspectives, solving the problems, learning few life skills, communicating and expressing and debating😊

This was a Season of many firsts:

📕Started the club for younger age group 5-7Yrs… and what a great great fun time we had! It was such a refreshing session each time…….engaging with super energetic lovely kids and listening to their thoughts of innocence…..and full of love!
They indeed left me mesmerized at many moments!!!

📗This Season we took a special initiative ( as decided by many book clubs across the nation - an idea floated and initiated by Archana Atri of AA's Book Nerds to talk about Autism with children- April being Autism Awareness Month.
To talk about inclusiveness and create awareness- that was the main motive!
The books that we read across various age groups to get an insight on the same are:

Can you See Me?
Flyaway Boy
A Boy called Bat
Vibhuti Cat
My Mouth is a Volcano

It was a great insight to listen and talk to children when many of them shared their personal experience of interacting with Autistic kids and brought a lot on table —we learnt a great deal from each other.

A common thing that came up in almost all discussions was- each child could connect with one or the other characteristics and shared their personal way of handling their emotion or situation though none of them come under any such spectrum.

So unknowingly- they talked about many personal issues and we did try and find solution as well😊

📘Another first that happened this Season is - Going offline with three groups!!!

📚First time me and kids were reading a book like Case Closed- a book that has 3 different possibilities of solving a case. The reader needs to find own path by picking the clues and reach the end. It was indeed a great style of writing which could have been a humungous task undoubtedly!!!

A book that needs a special mention here is:
The Worst Witch- the book that immediately connects you with Harry Potter books, the moment you start reading.
That’s what led me to research about the book as I felt how come it has almost the same imagination. And surprisingly this book is written decades before Harry Potter was written and J K Rowling loved reading The Worst Witch Series😃
Do we need to say more???
The readers are the best authors of course😃😃

There are many many more anecdotes and we possibily can’t write each here……

All in all- What a fantabulous time we had -
6 groups across different ages( 5-14 Yrs), online and offline batches, 30 books read( 6 books read and discussed per age group),
29 Bookyardigans ( some of them are with us since Season 1)

Superrrrr engaging time and never enough……..

Sooo- can we be done yet???

Another Season of The Bookyardigans Book Club ended this week!!

New beginnings as we went offline with one of the groups!

Amazing experience as always and feel enriched with the 16 books read in last 3 months( 6 books per age group including one common book among all ages)

New experiment yet again by recommending short picture books (Art is Everywhere) to 9-11 and 11-13 age group as well!
Glad to say it was once again a success!

The books selection is done after a lot of research considering the genre, quality, availability and interest and diversity in mind!

Not to miss- I read all the books along with as a first timer😊

So it’s not only a enriching and lovely experience for the kids but me as well!!

It’s amazing to see the kind of children books available these days! We are indeed spoilt for choice!

The authors are doing an incredible work by taking our imagination to another level and by sharing stories from our past and present, not to miss the social issues talked about in the kids friendly manner and much much more!

This season- books amazed us, made us cry, changed our perspective, motivated us, shared a part of history, gave us new insights - the list can go on.

Thank you parents and The Bookyardigans for trusting us over and over again and helping the club grow manifold in all these years!

Looking forward to see you back in Season 7.

Just finished reading this book- ( as part of book club Season 6)

Splash of emotions, profound love, extreme adventure, passion, will power, determination, friendship, hope, power of prayer and belief, trust and loyalty or love—- soooo much ——all at once.

It literally moved me to tears—- flowing without any control😃

Anybody and everybody can read the book irrespective of the age. It’s sure to warm your heart and leave you spellbound!

📚Another Finale!

📕Another Season ends!

The Bookyardigans Book Club📚 recently finished its Season 5!!

23 participants (10 new and 13 —-2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th timers 😊🙏)
Six sessions, 15 books and close to 26 new stories( among all batches) -what an overwhelming experience yet again!

This Season was special as we experimented big way and had 98% success rate!

😊Must say - given an opportunity and right direction- children have the capacity to amaze anybody and everybody!

💕The ‘Out of League’ and ‘Out of Comfort Zone’ books that we read among all age groups gave new energy and has raised the bar for many of us!

The children accepted the challenge whole heartedly and the sessions or books which I was most nervous about turned out to be the winners!!!

However- there was great learning and some experiments were not so interesting but yes- they did leave us thinking and talking and questioning and wondering 😃

All in all- a fulfilling, enriching and happy time we had!!!

Icing on the cake- when we were featured in the newspaper🙏😊
