Embracing the timeless elegance of the six yards💝

Six yards, a classic drape that weaves tradition and grace. This is the beauty of handcrafted and handwoven sarees that even after years and years they remain same and an evergreen timeless attire.

I started my saree collection with this saree. It's a pure crape saree in forest green enriched with Kashmiri hand embroidery. Blouse has to redo due to increased in size (as its quite visible on pic 🙈) but saree remain the same all this years. A new blouse in maroon color is stitched and embroidery of the old is patched over it.

Samhita Fam and Friends

As an Indian the 75th Republic Day holds deep significance and glad to be part of "Humari Virast" campaign by which aims to celebrate the Constitution of India and honor Indian rich textile heritage with an unique concept by bringing together 75 artisans from different textiles back ground to glorify the values of Indian Constitution- Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. 

Samhita Weaves chose Peacock as the national bird of India in Pen Kalamkari, an ancient handcraft of India.
"Kalamkari is an ancient hand printing technique of fabric. Natural colors are used for printing and there are twenty three steps.

All 75 artwork in different weaves and printing are stitched together to make murals which are displayed in a prestigious venue - Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahaly.
