The Grade 4 Culmination Event, "Nature’s Navigators," successfully highlighted our students' journey as emerging environmental stewards through an engaging blend of digital literacy, visual arts, and exploratory learning. Our students demonstrated a deep understanding of environmental conservation through bird card presentations, artistic expressions, and reflective writing. The interactive game stations developed by the students to demonstrate their engagement in critical sustainability discussions, impressed parents and other visitors with the students' confidence, teamwork, and passion for making a difference. This event showcased their academic achievements and marked a significant step in nurturing environmentally conscious individuals committed to sustaining our planet. As a part of the session's culmination, Grade 7 organized an engaging inter-class debate competition themed 'Be The Change '. The debate topics encompassed pertinent issues revolving around the government's role in regulating social media, environmental preservation, and the connection between economic growth and sustainable development, showcasing their acquired knowledge in each topic throughout the year.
The debates unfolded amidst an atmosphere of intellectual fervor, with classmates serving as attentive spectators and a panel of esteemed Middle Program Educators presiding as discerning judges.

The Junior Programme Carnival, organized by our dedicated parent volunteers, transformed the last day of school for our Junior school students into an educational extravaganza! From thrilling games to captivating educational stalls, this carnival was a feast for young minds. Each stall was a gateway to learning, with interactive science activities, mind-bending puzzles, and hands-on experiments. And amidst all the learning, there was plenty of laughter and fun. Our immense gratitude to our amazing parent volunteers for making this possible!

The Grade 5 Expedition, "I am what I eat," aimed to deepen students' understanding of the concept of ‘farm to table’. Over the past five months, students embarked on a journey to investigate the fundamental connection between food and well-being. Through this inquiry-based learning, they gained a deeper appreciation of the farmer's vital role in society.

The expedition commenced with an in-depth exploration into the lives of farmers. Through various activities and discussions, students cultivated a profound respect and appreciation for the tireless efforts of those who cultivate our food. Their engagement extended beyond the classroom as they interacted with their local community, including visits to the CSNF Mandi, where they had the opportunity to engage with farmers directly. This firsthand experience enhanced their understanding of farming practices and deepened their appreciation for the agricultural industry.

As part of the project, students curated interactive activities to showcase the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. These activities included engaging role plays, insightful food label analysis sessions, and interactive plant function games, all designed to educate both fellow students and their parents.

At the conclusion of the session, our Kindergarten students collated their learning of the unit titled 'Amazing Animals' and presented it in the form of dioramas encapsulating the essence of the unit. Throughout this unit journey, they delved into the animal kingdom and learnt about their physical attributes, natural habitats, and dietary habits. As a part of the unit the students went for an outbound trip to the zoo, where they had the opportunity to closely observe the animals in their habitats.

For the culminating event, students collaborated in buddy pairs, exchanging insights gleaned from their learning and observations throughout the duration of the session. This collaborative endeavor fostered camaraderie among peers and facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

The Grade 6 Expedition, "History: The Mirror to Our Present," aimed to develop an enduring understanding that human needs change over time and profoundly impact socio-cultural and political developments in societies.
This expedition journey involved students working on concepts such as historical significance, continuity and change, cause and consequence, and historical perspective. They did so by learning and building their understanding around multiple eras in time, namely the Stone Age, Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic Age, and the Mauryan Empire. These concepts required students to acquire the skill of historical inquiry, which involved formulating questions, analyzing sources, gathering and organizing relevant information, interpreting and analyzing that information, and evaluating and drawing conclusions.
Their quest into the past was further enriched by field visits (KHOJ) to Purana Quila, Qutub Minar, Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, and museums. Additionally, they received support in geographical skills such as mapping, mathematical skills like creating a timeline, and literature skills like reading both fiction and non-fiction historical texts, and expressing historical understanding through written and oral communication.

Additionally, the campaign theme 'Inspire Inclusion' reminds us to embrace diversity and create environments where all women are valued and respected. Let's celebrate the achievements of women and continue working towards a more inclusive and equitable society!

Our Nursery students enthusiastically participated in an assembly for the culmination of the unit ‘Wonders of Nature.’ The study unit helped the students to learn “what nature is and how we can help preserve its resources”. They presented their learning through role-plays, singing songs, and dancing.
The culmination was further integrated with social-emotional learning, where the children encouraged the parents to come forward and think of one promise they would make to Mother Earth to help preserve and take care of nature. Together, they pledged promises to Mother Earth, etching them onto stones near our banyan tree.
A beautiful union of education and empathy, fostering a deeper connection with our planet.

Continuing with our series ‘Heritage Teacher Diaries’, it’s time to turn the page and get a glimpse into another story that brings forth the resilient, passionate, and compassionate spirit of our educators who have stood their ground for their beliefs and values and brought a positive change in the lives they have touched including their own.

“In 2023, I embarked on an incredible journey as an educator at Heritage, a decision spurred by my passion for teaching.
I vividly remember my first foray into this teaching several years ago. From supporting friends in computers to joining my dad in the family business, and later teaching at an IAS coaching center, the path unfolded gradually. Through those moments of achievements, challenges and rejections, I relished every experience. For that matter, I believe rejection is an open door- a testament to my worth and pure values driven by teaching experiences thereafter. I remember overcoming rejection from a badminton championship that led me to aerobics, a journey of self-discovery and proving my worth. Despite the elders not listening, my passion fueled a determined path.
Describing my teaching journey is a tale of growth and exploration. Every opportunity brought challenges, and I thrive on embracing newness. Experimentation became my teaching style, defining both high and low points in this incredible journey.

Beyond education, my passions - driving, cycling, running 10k at 5:30 am, and squash - each activity is a planned and disciplined blessing. These passions make me more inquisitive and transform challenges into opportunities, allowing me to relish the process.

Trusting oneself, staying true to values, and not depending on assumptions are my key beliefs. Challenges stoke up personal growth in the long run.

Our Kindergarten students as part of their ongoing unit on “Amazing Animals” embarked on an exciting trip to the zoo, offering them a delightful learning adventure. This outing provided an invaluable opportunity for our young learners to observe animals firsthand, gaining insights into various species and their habitats. Saksham, an initiative dedicated towards empowering society by partnering with Government Schools to raise awareness and work together for various social causes. It was started by students of Heritage Xperiential Learning School in 2016.
Our Saksham Project: Exchange Program, in collaboration with Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Bhajgera, is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity. Students from GSSS visited our school recently and immersed themselves in a cultural exchange, experiencing a range of enriching activities together.

HXLS students recently participated in India's International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) along with a study tour in London.

They had the honour of witnessing the inauguration ceremony at the British Parliament, where they also attended a panel session with eminent personalities, including Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom, Bob Blackman, and renowned actor Boman Irani. Additionally they engaged in stimulating Model United Nations committee sessions at Kingsbury School, exchanging ideas and perspectives with 110 fellow scholars from 13 participating schools from around the world.

As part of the study tour, they explored renowned universities in the UK like the London School of Economics, Oxford University, Imperial College, Trinity College and King's College. They also celebrated India's Republic Day at the Indian High Commission.

This experience was invaluable for our students, expanding their horizons, forging connections, and fueling their passions.

Traffic Safety Awareness Session at HXLS !

The Traffic Police Department recently paid a special visit to HXLS to impart invaluable lessons on road traffic safety to our young learners. Grades 2 and 3 students were the enthusiastic participants in this enlightening session.

With a blend of education and engagement, the officers emphasized the critical importance of adhering to traffic rules for everyone's safety. They encouraged the students to become ambassadors of road safety by not only following the rules themselves but also influencing their families to do the same. From understanding traffic signals to learning about pedestrian safety, the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the session while imbibing crucial lessons that will stay with them for life.

HXLS extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Traffic Police Department for their efforts in educating our young minds and instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards road safety. Together, let's strive for safer roads and communities!
