SRK does all his entire day planning while at the Toilet..wait..! Does it mean, he planned the entire script of Jawan while at Toilet ?

Well We don’t know.

But what we know is, 270,000 trees are sacrificed daily, for the sake of toilet paper*, and a whopping 1.5 BILLION people don’t even have access to a Toilet ** !

Now, Who Gives a Crap About These Toilet Talk? Actually, People Do!

Enter Simon Griffiths, an Australian entrepreneur who decided to give a crap – literally. After spending years working with NGOs in developing countries, he recognized the critical need for hygienic sanitation solutions in 2012.

To address this issue, he co-founded Who Gives A Crap, a toilet paper brand with a mission that goes beyond just Bum talk!

Who Gives A Crap is Just a Name.

Who Gives A Crap prioritizes sustainability. Their toilet paper is 100% recycled, and 50% of their profits are donated to NGOs building toilets in developing nations. This purpose-driven approach, commitment to sustainability, and innovative marketing strategies have made Who Gives A Crap a leader in the toilet paper industry.

In 2012, toilet paper wasn’t exactly a topic trending on Twitter or Instagram, But Who Gives A Crap wasn’t afraid to get creative. Their CEO live-streamed himself on a toilet for 50 hours, raising $50,000 and reaching millions online.

They’ve also become social media ninjas, using humor, memes, and all the lingo the Gen Z use to connect with the younger generation. Their quirky Instagram with over 321,000 followers is proof they’re doing something right.

Who Gives A Crap partnered with designers Craig & Karl to create unique, conversation-starting packaging. Their five designs feature abstract body parts (eye, ear, nose, mouth, finger) that customers can playfully mix and match for a quirky home art display.

We are looking for 10 top quality independent from North East India to work with us at Pencil design studio on collaboration basis for the year 2024.

Onboarding process:

1. Send your portfolio to us.

2. Team Pencil will screen your works and call for online meeting/ discussions. We have more than 10 years of exposure and experience in this field. So yes, that gives us capabilities to understand your works.

3. Selected Graphic designers will get a token amount of Rs 5000/- once onboarded as a gift. No catch. We just wanted to share our happiness with you.

4. Work mode is hybrid and project basis. Work from anywhere, but during projects we will meet in person.

5. Payment: will be project basis as one can earn more than a fixed salary.

Note: You need to be based in North East India. We are looking for designers who have great understanding of their native cultures and they love to represent it visually.

Who should not apply:

1. If you keep your phones on silent mode and can’t be reached when in need. And if you don’t call back once you saw our call.

(P.S. we respect working time so don’t worry we will not buzz you at midnight)

2. If you think you hate deadlines and a few rules. We are religious about delivering project on time.

If you have a great product but lack appealing packaging design, you might lose out on these:

1. 🥵 Failing to signal positive pre-expectations :

Now what’s that?

Before consuming a product , as a human behaviour a customer first analyse it visually .

These visual interpretations sets a pre-expectation in his brain cells. Some thing like these:

👉 Looks good, it might be tasty and pure. Let me give it a try.

👉 Looks low quality and might taste bad, should I buy it or not?

Research have shown that , if our pre -expectation is positive and high, most people will experience goodness of the product.

The opposite is true too.

2. 🥵Failing to standout:

Your products will naturally be placed amidst competition, whether on retail shelves or in web stores among other alternatives.

A buyer uses (signals to take easy and effective decision) to help him decide and take the right decision perhaps in a fastest possible time.

A poor packaging design fail to incorporate this signals ( via visuals and text) and the probability of not being bought , increases.

Our beloved tea has been winning hearts. Well why not? They brew one of the tastiest CTC tea on earth.

On that note, Happy world Rhino day. As Deepankar was saying today “we don’t have unicorns, we have our Rhinos”.

That sums up everything and calls for a mazzedar dudh waali chai!

In 2017, one person changed our lives at Pencil design studio.

Meet madam. My partner, our mentor and lucky charm.

She is one of the owner of Janambhumi group and esteem IORA resort and other ventures.

Prior to April 2017, she was my client. We did some dope projects together. Soon she became more than a client.

In early 2017, I was about to close everything and go home and do something different. I used to share my struggles with her casually.

Just during that phase when I almost decided to go home, two things happened:

1. I started to get great number of calls asking ‘is this Pencil design studio, we have a project for you’

2. Bornali madam came ahead and said if I support you for next 6 months , can you turn around Pencil.

Since then our lives changed.

From a one man backed , broken design studio, gradually we became a team of crazy talents.

With her help, Pencil design studio embarked on the journey of becoming a 2D animation studio. The combination of concepts, graphics and animation has enabled us to expand our wings. Soon we began to fly better.

This post is to express how one entrepreneur changed our lives.

I call her boss lady.

While we are more public, She often stays behind the stage , supports us and let us play our game.

Where logic fails, psychology wins:

2. Want customers to shop more in your store? Hand them a trolley than a small basket.
