Sister Library is a community-owned,
community-run feminist library. It is an evolving and generative artwork that
engages in in-depth reflection on the visual and reading culture of our times.
The project emphasizes on the importance of the works of women in the creative
world.
In our bombay library, we display publications and printed materials powered by female excellence that
explores historical and contemporary creative works. Brought together by artist aqui Thami this collaborative
practice stems from her desire to heal in community. The travelling Sister Library, is a collection curation of
printed materials that responds to its locality, this display takes the form of an experimental reading and
reflecting room.
Sister library is in Assam and NEthing is glad to host them. Do drop by and check their collection of books and also indulge in the evening interactive sessions with the team!

Our Story
NEthing is Guwahati’s first multilingual bookstore, tea-shop and event space. Along with books and tea/coffee, we organise regular events like writing and art workshops, books and poetry reading, music, art exhibitions, trainings and discussions etc.
NEthing is also a shared creative work space. Its space and facilities can be used as a temporary or long term working space/office and venue for activities/events. Our store can be used by local producers and designers to host their products.
NEthing is a not-for-profit social enterprise run by an all-women team. It is a collaborative initiative of a group of women aiming to challenge gender boundaries, create creative employment and support women from marginalized backgrounds like survivors of violence, women with disability. It aims to promote production and use of local, environmentally and socially conscious products.
