World Immunization Week: Spreading Awareness through Education & Roleplay!



In honor of World Immunization Week, nursing students from the esteemed Shri Swami Bhumanand College of Nursing, Haridwar, organized a special health education and role-play session to raise awareness about the significance of immunization and educate people on preventable diseases through vaccination.

The event was conducted by our dedicated students, who included ANM 1yr, ANM 2yr, GNM 2yr & GNM 3rd yr, at both Shri Swami Bhumanand Hospital in Haridwar and the community area of Bukkanpur Village, Laksar.

The interactive role-play format proved to be an effective tool in communicating the message, making it engaging and informative for the participants. We are proud to share that the event received positive feedback from patients and visitors alike.

In commemoration of World Immunization Week, whose theme this year is "Humanly Possible: Saving Lives through Immunization," a poster and slogan contest was arranged by the students of Shri Swami Bhumanand College of Nursing and Paramedical Institute located in Haridwar.
The competition was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Priyanka, Assistant professor, Mrs. Sonam Upadhyay, Nursing tutor, and Miss Ankita on April 26th, 2024.
The top three entries were recognized and awarded for their commendable efforts.

Healthy Habits, Happy Minds!
The School Health Programme held at Bukanpur Primary School in Laksar, Haridwar on April 26, 2024, was a great success! It was organized by students of GNM 3rd Year and M.Sc.Nursing 2nd Year to promote health and hygiene awareness among students.

The program had a team of medical professionals who conducted various activities including health check-ups, nutritional guidance, hygiene workshops, dental hygiene awareness, and nutritious diet preparation and distribution. Both teachers and students participated enthusiastically in the program.

We are confident that the School Health Programme will have a positive impact on the lives of these young students. By instilling healthy habits and promoting awareness about health and hygiene, we can help them build a strong foundation for their future. It was supervised by Ms.Swati, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Sunidi, Nursing Tutor.

Our talented B.Sc. Nursing 2nd semester students have been hard at work, and they’ve put together on preparing a Renal Diet. 🍽️
The kidneys are amazing organs that filter waste from our blood. But sometimes, they need a helping hand. A renal diet helps support healthy kidney function by limiting certain nutrients that can be tough for them to process.

On the occasion of World Glaucoma Day, a seminar was organized at the Conference Hall of Shri Swami Bhumanand College of Nursing. The seminar focused on the prevention, management, and the role of nurses in glaucoma treatment. In addition, prizes were distributed to students of B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, ANM, BMLT, BMRIT, and Diploma Optometry for their active participation in various competitions such as rangoli, poster, and quiz competitions.

QUIZ COMPETITION PROGRAMME

A quiz competition was organized on the occasion of World Glaucoma Week. Our nursing and paramedical students participated in the quiz, which focused on the importance of early detection and regular eye checkups, as well as the management of glaucoma. The judges for the quiz competition were Dr. Shobita Bansal, Mr. Niju Joy, Dr. Nidhi Tomar, and Mr. Vineet Karal. Out of ten teams, the top three were selected. The entire program was organized by the Medical Surgical Nursing Department.

Rally for Raising awareness regarding Glucoma and Mass Health Education followed by Skit

Our students hosted a rally at Government Inter College, Sethpur, Dinarpur Laksar to raise awareness about glaucoma and promote mass health education.

During the rally, a captivating skit was performed to highlight the importance of early detection and regular eye check-ups. Mass health education was also provided to emphasize the understanding of glaucoma, its risk factors, early signs, and treatment options.
