Bodybuilders and powerlifters can use
different types of footwear to support different types of
training goals.
e Typically, if your goal is to increase quad size, I'd
recommend a shoe with an elevated heel as this will help you
keep and upright torso which increase quad demands in the
squat. On the flip side, flat shoes might help you "sit back"
more in a squat to emphasize glutes and adductors.
Obviously, ankle mobility plays a large role but squatting
mechanics and I always recommend improving ankle
mobility before relying on an expensive pair of shoes.
Regardless, you can use shoes as a tool to influence your

💥We often hear people say that it's
impossible to replicate newbie gains after you get a certain
amount of training experience. While advanced lifters will
probably always progress at a slower rate, that doesn't mean
you can't make accelerated gains for short bursts of time.
Multiple studies over the past few decades have found
massive gains when using trained subjects. How? They used
properly periodized training! Most studies use awful training
programs that almost no one would make any gains from, let
alone an experienced lifter. What does this mean?
Even as a gym veteran, you can still make great progress.
You're just going to have to periodize your training to ensure
you're creating a new stimulus for your body to adapt to! If
you keep doing the same thing over and over again, your
body will stop making gains!
