Socket preservation technique : It maintains bone volume post-extraction in anticipation of an implant placement or fixed partial denture pontic site. This procedure helps compensate for the resorption of the facial bone wall .
A 27 yr old male pt reported to our centre for severe tooth pain and unable to chew frm the site. On examination , clinically gross decayed 1st molar of lower right jaw with poor endodontic (rct) treatment.
The following steps were done to manage it.
1.Tooth Extraction done
2. Curretage of granulation tissues and irrigation with betadine
3. Presuturing
4.beta tcp (Resorable synthetic) bone graft placed.
5.collagen membrane placed.
6. Suturing done..
