For me it’s more than a just festival. It’s a way of passing down the family traditions !! since each family has its own traditions to follow..

Quick Gulab Jamun Recipe

Sugar Syrup:
2 cups sugar
5 cups water
1 tsp milk
1/2 tsp saffron
1/2 tsp cardamom powder

For Gulab Jamun Balls:
1 1/2 cups khoya
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup maida
1 tsp milk.

1. Take sugar and water in a deep pan. Stir and bring to boil on high flame for sugar to dissolve.

2. Now add milk to the sugar water. Boil further and strain.

3.Then add saffron and cardamom powder and bring the mixture to boil for about 5-6 minutes until it becomes little sticky.

Gulab Jamun Balls:

1.Take the grated Khoya in a medium size deep bowl.

2.Add baking soda and maida. Combine them thoroughly but gently using a spoon.

3.Add a teaspoon of milk to it and knead all of them together to make a smooth and soft dough. Add another teaspoon of milk if required.

4.Make sure that the dough is a bit softer to avoid cracking of ball while deep frying.

5.Divide the dough into equal parts and make smooth surfaced balls out of it.

6.Now heat ghee in a pan over medium flame and add the Jamun balls to deep-fry them. Cook evenly until it becomes golden brown.

7.Make sure that you do not cook on high flame otherwise the balls will burn.

8.Now drain and let them cool for few minutes.
9.Then immerse the gulab jamuns in the warm sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes. It increases in size when it soaks the sugar syrup.

10.Hot and tasty sweet dish is ready to serve.

Here is quick recipe of sabudana namkeen👇

1 cup Big size Sabudana/Sago Pearls
1 cup Peanuts
Salt to taste
1 tsp Dried mint leaves, crushed
1 tsp Red chili powder
1 tsp Roasted cumin seeds, crushed
1 tsp chat masala

Soak sabudana for 10 minutes then dry it on a towel cloth.
Heat oil in a kadai. Place a strainer over it.
Add sabudana..
Soon it will start to fluff.
Keep in oil until all the pearls are puffed. Taking them out too soon may result in uncooked sabudana.
Same way fry the peanuts.
Toss them together in a bowl.
Assemble all the spices you eat.
Store it in airtight container and good for 2-3 weeks.

What do you do when your family ask for snacks and you are dead tired after all the chores😅

That's what I do,
I take out my boiled chickpeas from freezer and make evening snacks😉 It's super quick, filling, healthy and easy peasy🥗

Delicious yet nutritious morning🌄 with homemade crispy masala dosa
with it's accompaniment sambar and chutneys makes a start to a beautiful day😍

Perfect are a matter of pride & this requires a perfect dosa batter.
Though, dosa batters are readily available in the market, but making one at home is very healthy and hygienic in comparison to market one.

There are so many things to be taken care of to make the perfect crispy dosas.

When it comes to Bengali sweets, whether you have a sweet tooth or not hardly matters. One look at these enticing babies will melt your heart and your taste buds!

Thanks to the Lockdown in 2020 😁. I mastered the art of rolling perfect spongy chenna balls. I'm sure you will fall in love with it once you taste these super-soft and spongy rasmalai. Its actually an easy peasy recipe, with just one main ingredient "milk". it needs little kneading technique. Rest of the procedure is smooth. Believe me once u have homemade rasmalai u are never gonna buy from shop.😎

Chalo let's see the recipe.

For chenna:
1 litre milk (full cream cows milk)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup water
For sugar syrup:
1½ cup sugar
8 cups water
For rabri:
1 litre milk (full cream cows / buffalo milk)
l¼ cup sugar
½ tsp cardamom powder (optional)
Few saffron strands (optional)
Some chopped nuts of choice

1. Bring milk to a boil. Slowly add lemon juice mixed with water to make chenna. Drain the water and hang it for 10 minutes then wash the chenna and knead well to make smooth balls.

2. Make sugar syrup by mixing the sugar and water at high heat. When it comes to a boil
Then drop the prepared paneer balls then cover and boil for 15 minutes.
furthermore, squeeze of sugar syrup.

3. Rabri recipe:
firstly, heat milk and get to a boil till milk reduces to one-third.
further, add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron milk. Mix well.

refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

Now pour the chilled rabri / rabdi over the squeezed paneer balls & garnish with few chopped nuts and allow to absorb for 2 hours.

This Meetha माँ ka aachar!!!!
(Gobhi, Gajar, Shalgam ka achar) is something we grew up having from our childhood days & Top on my memory list.
This recipe is the way my mom has always made it for our family. She has been making this for years, has passed it onto me and now I am so happy to share it here. While I would love to take credit for this recipe, its actually my mom's recipe and it has been a favourite for me and my sister.
Sometimes when you may not find good vegetables; this kind of instant no cook option comes super handy- goes well with dal chawal, roti or you can have as a side dish or achar or even as a main sabjee in tiffin.. either ways. It can make any boring food interesting and yummy 🤩🤩🤩
It aids digestion and helps in building immunity when consumed moderately.
I don't buy ready made pickle at all and make this whenever needed!

Dahi bhalle chaat!!

This is one of my favorite chaat & very close to my heart and makes me so nostalgic every time I make it. 🙂🙂 My mom made it often, and the whole family enjoyed it. Her recipe was always requested as the(vada) bhalla's always came out so soft and pillowy. They would just melt in the mouth. I love to Top them up with Tamarind Chutney, mint cilantro chutney, some roasted cumin powder and chili powder, and you have the best dish here.
Whenever I have pomegranate at my home, I always end up making this chaat and relishing it with good old memories!!!🥰🥰❤️❤️
Okay...I am drooling just talking about it. It is one of the dish that is on repeated at every restaurant 😊😊🙂

eggplant gellete
Gallete is a French dish made with flaky pastry dough.
It's loaded with butter coz it's french, I choose to make a savoury version of gallete with aloo baingan bhaji. 😀

Food has always attracted me and making others eat especially kids gives me immense & this idea of making gallets with leftovers on my friends insta page inspired me to give it a try and I am now OBSESSED! So much easier and they are just so beautiful and delicate. This tastes so intense and sophisticated. My kids just loved it. They didn't even get to know that these gallets are made of up regular roti dough and their most hated vegetable 🙈 i cannot wait to experiment with these more✨This is how we operate and get kids to eat veggies. 😀

I choose allo baingan bhaji but this prettiest tart can be made with any filling of your choice.

Christmas is all about smiles, celebrations and delish cooking but with kids is not just about ingredients and recipes, It's about imagination, empowerment, and creativity 💕💕💕
These snow mans are made up of homemade rasgullas.😋🤗

A great idea to celebrate Christmas with kids.
I’ve found, my kids are much more willing to eat the good stuff when I make it a little more attractive for them to eat.
These were so fun and festive that my kids gobble them up in one go! 😀

Merry xmas to all from 🎅💝💐

Here goes the Recipe:

Milk (4 cup)
• 1-2 tbsp Lemon Juice or Vinegar
• 1-2 tbsp Arrowroot/Corn flour
• 4 cup Water
• 2 cup Sugar
• ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder

Method:
For Chena/Paneer
1. Bring milk to a boil & make chena by slowly adding lemon juice.
2. Strain the chena in muslin cloth and hang it on tap handle for 30 minutes.
3. Remove the prepared chena into a bowl. Add corn flour/arrowroot powder, mix and knead well.
4. Divide the dough into small portions and make smooth and small balls from it.
5. Heat water in a large pan, then add sugar, cardamom powder and keep stirring till sugar dissolves completely.
6. Once it starts bubbling add prepared balls slowly one by one and simmer it for 3 minutes.
7. Keep on medium flame and close with a lid, cook it for another 7-8 minutes.
8. Mini Rasgulla is ready. Let it be cool down, then place it into a freeze to chill it.

Assembling for snowman:

Cut the Round edges very little so that snow man can stand up. Join two rasgullas with the help of tooth pick. Cut carrot in small rounds and place on top of it. To make eyes, i used black pepper. I made nose with small piece of carrot.

Remove peppers before serving to kids. Enjoy!😍😊

'Pickle' is must condiment in every indian household and is served along with Meals or pranthas.🍱 It adds spice to the food. My indian vegetarian thali is incomplete without pickles. 😋

There r thousand of recipes that differs in taste and flavours.
I remember the days when my nani use to sit and make pickles in large quantities and was distributed among the families.

Your best food buddy for every meal, this is the saving grace for recipe disasters, first-time cooks or just lazy Sunday lunches! All you need is some Pickle!

This is my new trend with a twist with mathis. The combination of chole and bhature generally lists as a top favorite of punjabis.
But believe me guys, Try once the combination of chole with mathis when accompanied by onions and some green chillies with a glass of lassi. it is a taste that matches no other! You surely gonna fall in love with this 😍
Can't stop boasting about this mathis.
This was my first ever try and they came out very well.

I just love the bhuni shakarkandi of street side thelas. To stop by one of these carts in winters and relish some heavenly roasted spicy chaat is used to be highlight of my winter shopping 🛍️.
I still remember the smoky flavor in the chaat coming from roasted sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes are roasted on coal and this gives them a lovely smoky flavor, that you will not get if you roast them in an oven or steam in a pressure cooker or pan. In this recipe sweet potatoes are par boiled and then roasted in elelctric tandoor. But nevertheless this still tastes good and serve the purpose 😊

The sweetness of the shakarkandi pairs very well with the slight pungency of the black pepper powder and the tang coming from the dry mango powder and lemon juice. Overall a quick no fat snack to enjoy any time of the day.

In addition to they provide a number of health benefits and are easy to add to your diet. They are rich in vitamins, minerals & antioxidants.
