Anokhi Dukan helps poor get access to household items JALANDHAR: The concept of Anokhi Dukan, which started in the city with a unique idea to provide a range of items, (though used or donated) to the downtrodden at an affordable range, has worked well.

There’s no need for them to discuss men in their lives because we have so much more to talk and dream about.

Today, when we entered Anokhi Dukaan, we found out that someone, after breaking the lock, had entered the shop and tried to steal whatever was in there. The person(s) probably thought- New shop on the block, new stuff, a new opportunity. While we’re here, trying to empower the underprivileged, and provide them with new opportunities, there are people trying to vandalize it and benefit themselves. Having said that, we’re not disappointed. In fact, our team knows that when there is light, there is shadow. Even if there are people who steal, there are people dedicating their entire lives to benefit the society. We believe in spreading love and empowering people to do good.
So people, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. @ PPR Mall

Our team is really excited to announce the opening of 'Anokhi Dukaan', a shop where needy people can buy things for very nominal prices, as low as Rs 5. Our team decided to sell these things, instead of donating it to them, because it fulfills two very major purposes:

1) It gives the under-priveliged people a sense of accomplishment of having bought something themselves and having 'earned' it.
2) It gives them a proper shopping experience, in which they'll be able to choose what they get, something that they can't experience while receiving charities/donations.

We’ll use all the proceeds to initiate more projects like this for the welfare of the society.

To donate, kindly send your things at the shop anytime between 5-7 pm Monday-Sunday. The address of Anokhi Dukaan is Shop no. 4, Second Floor, Block C, PPR Mall.

You can also send your donations at our center Aaghaaz, 96, Guru Ravi Das Nagar, near Guru Ravi Das Chowk.

If you know someone who would benefit from the shop, kindly let them know the shop is open 7 days a week from 5-7 pm.

Got some old spectacles or their covers? Got some old crockery, old bags, old footwear, old bed sheets, old quilt covers, old showpieces and sceneries, old watches. old clothes or any other things that you no longer use? Give it all to our team at Aaghaaz and watch us make it available to someone who would feel so lucky to have it! We are opening up ‘Anokhi Dukaan’, a shop in which we’ll sell the things that you donate at very nominal prices, as low as Rs 10. Selling these things will fulfill two very big things:
