Jammu Police step up vigil as night curfew comes into force to curb spread.

Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world, shall be open for one-way traffic on Thursday.

“Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (passenger) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on Jammu-Srinagar highway,” a traffic department official said in a statement.

Jammu: Massive Protest Against JKBOSE

Immense protest at Rehari as a large number of school students came out on roads to protest against the Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education(JKBOSE) to demand that their final exams should be conducted through an online mood. The students warned that if their demands will not be accepted then they will go on a hunger strike. The students complained that their whole year has been passed on online classes then how they can prepare for exams in just 2 months. The JK police and CRPF have reached the site and are trying to stop the students from marching forward towards the Secretariat.

Students have blocked the road. The students were pushing the security officials to match forward but the security forces are trying their best to stop them.

Talking to the media few female students said “a meeting is going on at Secretariat and we want to go there to demand that the students of 11th class should be mass promoted while the syllabus of 12th class should be reduced by 50%”. The girls complained that no female cop is present at the site and the male cops pushed us because which we have suffered injuries”.

The police allowed female students to match forward but taking advantage of that male students started running forward because of which the security forces opened a lathi charge there. Few students complained that we are students and the police should cooperate with us. How they can hit us with sticks?

A man was critically injured on Sunday after the car he was driving plunged into a deep gorge near Churtung Mode area of Saderkoot Payeen village on Bandipora-Srinagar highway.

A police official told  that an Alto Car bearing registration number JK15 5674 fell into the deep gorge after the driver lost control over it, resulting in the serious injuries to him.

He said the injured driver was immediately rushed to District Hospital Bandipora where doctors referred him to Srinagar hospital in critical condition.

He identified the injured person as Irshad Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, a resident of Nowpora area of Bandipora.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
