Dendrobium Orchid

Dendrobium's "Spatulata" is commonly known as "antelope orchids" because their twisted petals resemble the horns of antelopes. These orchids prefer medium to high light, but remember that too much light can bleach the leaves. Plastic pots can be used for planting, but clay pots are a better option as they allow for rapid drying and reduces risk of root rot.

"Dendrobium Sonia", a Malaysian species, makes for a beautiful flowering houseplant to decorate your desk, windowsill, or tabletop. These deep purple orchids appreciate average to high humidity, but in case you can't find this climate for your orchids, place the pot on a plate filled with water and pebbles. Don't let the roots or any plant part touch the water. This will help create a humid region, while also keeping snails and other insects away.

Native to Southeast Asia, this orchid "Dendrobium" is one of the largest of all orchid collections. In nature, they grow on the branches of trees, but you can grow them in pots as well. Make sure the pots are well-draining, as moisture shouldn't last long. For best results, hang or plant this orchid with partial light and shade. Its delicate blooms will perfectly suit your porch.

Euphorbia Milii, commonly called as "Crown of Thorns", is an evergreen succulent with beautiful flower bunches, oval leaves, and sharp thorns. Coming in a variety of colors, this tropical house plant is a perfect match for Kochi's weather.

The evergreen Renanthera is a gorgeous beauty originated from South-East Asia. When fed with bright light and moderate amounts of water, Renantheras can bloom regularly. Roots grow better among coconut husks, wood chunks, and charcoal in open pots, leaving them with low moisture.
