50,000 years later…the green comet is back! At its closest, this long period comet will be 26 million miles away from Earth on 2/1. It will potentially grow brighter as it gets closer to our planet. ☄️

There’s a good chance this comet will never return to Earth. Because it’s flying so close to the Sun, current predictions show that the comet won't make it back to Earth for at least a million years, and may just end up leaving the solar system forever. This may be the last time the comet will ever be visible on Earth! 😱

If skies are dark and clear, this comet will be visible to the naked eye as a faint, green fuzzball. Telescope or binocular viewing will provide a clearer view of the green comet!
