When starting the café, we were pretty clear that we wanted to not just create a place where you get great coffee, but also to engage a community of readers, literatis and individuals who enjoy the non-internet way of having fun with a wide range of board games. We started pretty basic, with our own small collection of books that has now almost tripled through the generous donations of our friends and valued guests, and some fun offers. Now that we're almost a year and a half old, we wish to thank everyone who's been a part of our journey so far, and would like to introduce a whole new level of community building through some more cool additions to our owlery. We hope to have your continued support for the coming future, and we promise we will deliver just as we have been doing so far. Stay tuned for more updates. Hoot hoot!

We're proud to introduce our latest addition to the Café : The Room Upstairs. It took a while for us to tweak out the finer elements for this space, but in the end, all's well that ends well. Here's a unique space for you to hang out not just with your friends, but to be part of communities of like minded people from our city, and to have some exciting times together. We're starting a one of its kind community for cinephiles in Kolhapur : The Owl's Film Club. In addition to The Owl's Reading Club, we plan to gather people like you who also love to watch classic and alternate films, paired together with some engaging discussions. The first event is to happen later this month: watch this space!

Today we bid adieu, not just to the brains and hands behind our carefully curated menu, not just to the teacher who introduced us to the wonderful world of baking, not just to the man who's been an integral part of laying the foundation for what we call The Yellow Owl Café, but to a friend, who despite his amazing culinary skills and experience, chose to work with us, a startup with little knowledge about the world of running a food establishment.

Thanks for the faith you showed in us, Chef, and for the incredible journey you've been with us on over the past year. We've had our daily doses of ups and downs, and a lesser man couldn't have been able to see them through. We wish you all the very best for your future endeavours, and hope you have a great time in the North West. It has been a pleasure and an honour to work with you. Good luck, and until next time, !

Introducing The Weekend Breakfast Club at The Yellow Owl Café! Starting this Saturday, we're gonna be open 8:30 am onwards, with a breakfast menu curated specially for you. Get your weekend vibe on with a delicious breakfast or brunch with your friends and family! Explore our style of fluffed up pancakes, super creamy smoothies and much more! Here we go with our final surprise the day we turn one! Starting Thursday, 10 August, The Yellow Owl Café will be open for an exclusive breakfast menu! We'll be opening at 8:30 am, and will be open everyday! So no more coffee-less days on Tuesdays!

We're turning ONE!

On account of our first anniversary, we have the pleasure and honour to host Dr Aparna Patil of Kolhapur, who also happens to be the author of 'Diya's Bagful of Stories' and 'Small is the new Big', and recently published her third book 'An Engaging Slice of Life'. Grab your chance to meet her and get a signed copy at The Yellow Owl Café on Wednesday the 9th of August, 4 pm onwards! What's better than the smell of freshly ground coffee? The smell of varieties of freshly ground coffee! We've acquired some of the most exclusive coffee beans available across various parts of India, and are excited to taste these coffees with you. Join us for a coffee cupping session at The Yellow Owl Café on Monday 7 August, 12 pm onwards, and let your taste buds loose on an exciting journey called coffee! Kindly register before Saturday 5 August so we can arrange for a seat for you.

Time for the grown-ups to get their reading glasses out! Join us for a Silent Reading Hour on Sunday, August 6 from 6 pm onwards, to be followed by a casual discussion about our favourite books. We have selected some nice reads for you, but we won't mind if you BYOB (Bring Your Own Books). Your first coffee is on us!

We kickstart the weekend by doing what we love most: reading! Specially for children aged between 8 and 14, this is our attempt at getting the future generation of book lovers under one roof for a special evening of silent reading, followed by a general discussion on our favourite children's books. Register your child now, so we can reserve a special goody for him/her when the day comes! You can bring your own book, or borrow one from the specially curated selection at The Yellow Owl Café's Library. Entry absolutely free!

We're hosting Shasn : The Game at The Yellow Owl Café this month. Free to play for everyone, but a full game takes about 4-6 hours to complete, so take your time out to try this one. It's a political board game wherein you have to answer questions to form ideologies, influence voters and form majorities in different constituencies on the board. There's also other political actions like gerrymandering, playing conspiracies on other players and forming and breaking alliances, and much more! We'll be there to help you out while you learn, so don't worry if you're a novice at board games.
