As the clock struck midnight on 14 August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India, proclaimed that the time had come to redeem India's “tryst with destiny”, In the meantime in a small lane in Laxmipuri, Kolhapur; Padma Guest House opened its doors to guests as a celebration of India’s Independence.

As we complete 75 years of Padma Guest House, we only have our customers to thank. Our proud loyal Patrons who have visited us over the years for an authentic Kolhapuri Thalis. We also dedicate these 75 years of success to our staff who have ensured that generations carry back happy memories from our doors.

One of the first to introduce authentic Kolhapuri cuisine to the city and the first to do a traditional thali..the food is wholesome and delicious, I had the veg thali and loved the flavors of the vegetables and chana masala..the curd was amazingly creamy..the millet Bhakri..so flavorful..the aamras..I loved the sweet sour flavors..and of course no Kolhapuri meal is complete without its chutneys..from the ground garlic and red chili one to the Thecha of green chilies..

Of course..the cuisine is famous for its amazing mutton preparations and the best way to sample them is with the mutton thali..just yum..Pandhra and Tambhra Rasa and a whole lot more..
