signs of a healthy Goldfish:–😀

Regardless of the variety, there are telltale signs you should look for when selecting your fish. Look at your prospective fish very carefully, because you do not want to buy an unhealthy fish right from the start •

Activity level. This is the most important thing to look for. You want healthy, active fish that swim smoothly and seem alert to their surrounds. Do not buy a fish that is spending all its time at the top or at the bottom of the tank, that is swimming on its side, or that is upside-down. Avoid any fish that looks as if it's having trouble swimming.

Eyes. Never let a dealer sell you a fish that has cloudy eyes, cataracts, or any other kind of malady of the eyes, unless that person is an expert in that breed. A goldfish's eyes should be bright and clear, and the fish should react to light.

Fins. All the goldfish's fins, including the caudal fin, should be erect or upright and intact. You should not buy a fish with spors anywhere on its fins, and there should be no frayed, split, or folded surfaces.

Scales. If there are any signs of fungus, white or otherwise, any wounds. or any missing scales, don't buy the fish. Fish should have unblemished bodies with no missing scales and no hint of disease.
