Another first added to my basket. Having done the first Presbyopic LASIK surgery ( Supracor Lasik) of Eastern India in 2018, I did the first Presbyopic Phakic IOL ( IPCL of CARE Group) of Eastern India today.

Teachers Of Tomorrow! What a novel concept! It was such a pleasure moderating the TOT session at VSSIMSAR, Odisha. The students were superb as teachers and the judges were spot on as first year PG students 😀. And I had a blast encouraging the “teachers” to scold the “students”.
Kudos to Dr Sharmistha Behera for organising it to perfection.

Women’s Ophthalmology Society of India (WOS) is a society which does things differently.

3. 100 residents who presented where around 70 percent were 1 st time presenters
4. Live surgery session with WOMEN ONLY surgeons to showcase their surgical skills.
5. Sessions related to Women entrepreneurship
6. Industry sessions and round table meets with the industry
7. Intersting sessions all in 1 like quiz ( theme being women in ophthalmology ), 3 D shows, court martial, kaun banega lakhpati and OPL.
8. Launch of short term fellowship program WOS CARE, Women in research website, Project Archana and Project Shakti
8. Science and fun sessions and awards

All in all it was a wholesome experience for any woman Ophthalmologist.
