๐ข Attention Business Owners and MSMEs! ๐ข
According to Section 15 of the MSMED Act, 2006, it's mandatory for business enterprises to ensure timely payments to MSMEs (Micro and Small Entrepreneurs) . Here's the breakdown:
1๏ธโฃ If there's NO written agreement between the parties, payment to MSMEs should be made within 15 days.
2๏ธโฃ However, if there is a written agreement, payment must be made based on the agreed-upon timeline, which should not exceed 45 days.
It's crucial to adhere to these timelines to foster a fair and supportive business environment for MSMEs. Let's ensure prompt payments and promote growth for all parties involved!
๐ According to the newly added clause (h) of Section 43B, any sum payable by the assessee to an MSME beyond the time limit specified in Section 15 of the MSMED Act will be allowed as a deduction only in the previous year in which the sum has been actually paid.

๐ข Important Update! ๐๐
Hey GST Registered Taxpayers! ๐ก๏ธโจ
GSTN just dropped a game-changer to beef up your login security! ๐ They've introduced Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of protection when accessing the GST portal.
The pilot launch in Haryana was a success, and now it's making its way to Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Delhi in phase one. ๐๐ In phase two, get ready for 2FA action across all states in India!
What's 2FA, you ask? After entering your user ID and password, you'll receive a one-time password (OTP) on your Primary Authorized Signatory's mobile number and email. ๐ฒ๐ป
Tip: Keep your authorized signatory's email and mobile number updated on the GST Portal to catch those OTPs. The OTP will only be requested if you switch systems (desktop, laptop, or browser) or location.
The 2FA is applicable from December 01, 2023. ๐๏ธ๐ฅ

Under the new tax regime, deductions under Chapter VIA are limited to only two specific cases. Firstly, taxpayers can claim a deduction under Section 80CCD(2) for contributions made by their employer towards the National Pension System (NPS). This means that an employer's contribution towards an employee's NPS will also be eligible for a deduction.
For private sector employees, they can claim a deduction of up to 10% of their salary, which includes basic salary and Dearness Allowance. On the other hand, government employees can claim a deduction of up to 14%. This is an important aspect to keep in mind when filing taxes under the new regime.
Secondly, Section 80CCH allows for deductions to individuals enrolled in the Agnipath Scheme on or after November 1, 2022. Taxpayers under this scheme can claim a deduction equal to the amount of contributions made to the Agniveer Corpus Fund.
It is essential to stay updated with the latest tax regulations to make the most of the available deductions and exemptions. Understanding these deductions can help taxpayers optimize their tax planning strategies and maximize their savings.
Wishing you a prosperous start to the new financial year, filled with abundance, good fortune, and financial growth, as well as an abundance of peace, humility, and excellent health.
May this year bring you many opportunities for success and may you make the most of them. Best wishes!
