SHOTOKAN KARATE INSTITUTE (a unit of JKAWF INDIA) was established in the year 2003. SKI is a modern interpretation of standard SHOTOKAN karate merged with Asai Ryuha Karate Jutsu. We strictly follow the Traditional Shotokan 3K (Kihon, Kata & Kumite) module with the incorporation of elements from Asai Ryuha Karate Jutsu.

SHOTOKAN KARATE INSTITUTE..... an overview! What's our training!
Operating for nearly two decades, SKI karate clearly reflects the idea of what JITSUGI KARATE-DO is:
Spins, long & short intertwined postures, circular techniques, projections & jumps, multidirectional moves, angles & diversions etc. until making a complete set of actions enjoying all range of motion in which beauty & efficacy are harmonized.
A vivid understanding of concrete Biomechanical principles & application of 5-point Kinematic Chain is what makes our karate unique. Unlike Classical Shotokan, SKI karate doesn't rely on heavy power and includes a form of natural energy & gestures that cause lethal impact.
Compared to other Shotokan Ryu, our work is more advanced, better elaborate & combat friendly.
As a result SKI training implies an expansion of the technical repertoire & fundamentals of Shotokan Karate, to include actions & forms that is no longer a part of training in most Traditional Shotokan Karate Schools.
