"Don't let anything stop you from following your passion". If you're looking to polish your tabla playing skills, then come and join in this Rhythm workshop conducted by Shri Sourabh Goho, organised by Ustad Shahadat Hossain Khan Music Foundation and Aashish Khan School of World Music.

Tabla Workshop will be conducted by eminent young Tabla Artist Shri Sourabh Goho. Sourabh is a worthy disciple of Legendary Pandit Shankar Ghosh and son of Harmonium Maestro Pandit Jyoti Goho. He has also taken Tabla lessons from Maestro Pandit Bickram Ghosh. Among many features in his cap, Sourabh has played Tabla in an international album 70 Veces 7 which has won the Latin Grammy award in 2018. He has performed in many prestigious festivals and iconic venues throughout India, China and Bangladesh and teaches numerous students online throughout the world in five different continents including North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia.

If you’re a serious student and have a passion for Tabla, then you can come on board and enroll for this interactive workshop. This workshop would be of two hours and will be focused on theme and variation based compositions, fixed compositions, rhythm exercises, mathematics of tabla and much more!

Topic: How to make a Tihai?
Learn I Perform I Explore Together
Content of the Workshop:
1) One theme and variation based Composition (Kaida or Rela) in Teentaal 16 beats cycle or Jhaptaal, 10 beats.
2) One fixed composition (G*t or a Tukra)
3) How to make a Tihai?
4) Making Tihais from different beats
5) Taal Laya exercises based on microbeats.

- The workshop is absolutely free and open for all.
- All the materials will be provided to the participants
- Participants may choose to bring their own instrument at the venue. However, they can come without instruments as well.
