Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh, the Director General of National Library, Government of India has met the readers of the National Library on 14.12.2023 at the Main Conference Hall. The objective of the meeting was to know the issues of readers regarding the reader services and resolve them in a fruitful way.

A writer from Bangladesh, Mr. Harendranath Basu, gifted two books written by him to the National Library, Government of India. ALIO of the Gift & Exchange Division received these books.

As an Academic Collaborator National Library hosts a Capacity Building Program for Young Social Science Faculties on "Trans-Disciplinary Social Science Research: Towards Atmanirbhar Bharat" organised by Dept. of Library Science, Netaji Subhash Open University(NSOU) and sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Ministry of Education, Govt of India.

Director General, National Library, Prof A P Singh Chaired the program. Former Director General of National Library and HOD ,NSOU, Dr Arun Chakraborty was also present in the program. The members later visited various divisions on National Library.

32 students of M.Sc Psychology along with 2 of their faculty members from Assam Don Bosko University ,Sonapur ,Assam came to visit the National Library, Government of India on an educational tour on 11th December, 2023. They have visited different sections and divisions of the National Library.

The National Library of India is hosting a one day Teachers Capacity Building Program on "Library & Information Science" on 7th December 2023 in collaboration with the Skill Education Unit, CBSE, New Delhi.
The Program has been inaugurated by Dr. Siva Prasad Senapathi, PLIO, National Library. The Director General, National Library Prof AP Singh was also virtually delivered the keynote address. Dr.K N.Jha, Asst Professor, DSEU,Delhi, Dr. Mamta Maggu, Librarian, BBPS, Noida, Ms. Jyoti, Asst. Secretary, CBSE were present as guests .

The National Library, Government of India has conducted the Lis intern examination for the year 2023-24 in 4 venues( Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore ) across the country.

Department of History students from Derozio Memorial College along with their faculty members came to visit National Library, Government of India on 01.12.2023. They have visited different sections and divisions of the National Library under the guidance of designated staff of the Library.

Group Chairman of Assam Daily Newspaper 'Pratidin' Mr. Jayant Barua handed over the Braille version of "Hemkos Dictionary", translated into Assamese language, to the Director General of the National Library, Government of India , Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh on 30.11.2023.

Mr. Jayadeva Ranade , Member of National Security Advisory Committee and President of Center for Chaina analysis and Strategy has visited the National Library on 30.11.23 . Director General, National Library, Prof A P Singh welcomed him and they discussed about the importance and resources of National Library, he was delighted after a visit to the Rare Book Division and Ashutosh Collection of National Library.

Vinod Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer, Kolkata Region , CPWD and his team along with PLIO and other officials of National Library, Government of India visited the ongoing renovation and upgradation work of Belvedere House and other construction works inside National Library Campus.

National Library, Government of India organised a User Orientation Programme on 24th November, 2023 on the e- resources subscribed by the Library from the Globe Publications on JSTOR

Polish dignitaries and business delegates visited the Main Reading Room and Rare Books Division of National Library, Government of India on 20.11.2023.

Polish dignitaries and business delegates visited the Old Heritage Building of National Library, Government of India The Belvedere House on 20.11.2023 along with Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh, DG and other officers of the National Library.

Polish dignitaries and business delegates met Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh Director General of National Library, Government of India at DG Office. They have discussed regarding the cultural exchange program between India and Poland.

Feelings of privilege, amazement, pride and happiness were the comments and responses of the Librarians of some of the IIT's in India who visited the National Library, Government of India on the 18th of November, 2023, who commended the upkeep and maintenance of the library materials especially the Rare Books Division.

Twenty four students along with their two faculty members from the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, Assam came to visit the National Library, Government of India . They have visited different sections and divisions of the National Library.

The National Library, Government of India has celebrated Children's Day, on the occasion of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary. The chief guest of this program was Dr. Swarup Prasad Ghosh, Director MAKAIS, Kolkata. Nearly 70 school students participated in the Essay & Extempore competition. At the end of the competition, prizes were distributed among the students by the chief guest and the Head of Office of the National Library. All officers and staff were present in this program.

Fifty four students of St. Joseph's +2 School, Jharkhand came to visit the National Library, Government of India along with their faculty members on 09.11.2023. They have visited different sections and divisions of the National Library under the guidance of designated staff of the Library.

An in-house training program was organised by National Library, Government of India along with the Pay & Accounts Office on 08.11.2023 regarding PFMS, Pay & Receipt Rules, E- Bills and Other related matters.
This Program was chaired by the Director General of National Library, Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh. The training was conducted by the Pay & Account Officer in the presence of PLIO and other officials of National Library .

The National Library, Government of India participated in the Patabindha santali Festival (with book fair) at patabindha, Orgunda in Jhargram district,WB on 25.10.23 & 26.10.23. The National Library has collected books from several authors and publishers. A.C. Soren & R.C. Besra attended this fair.

Vigilance Awareness Week-2023, which coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was observed in the National Library, Government of India with great enthusiasm. The integrity pledge took place on 30th October 2023. A lecture on vigilance awareness was also held on 03.11.2023 by Dr. Preeti Mahto, Chief Vigilance Officer, Syama Prasad Mukherjee Port, Kolkata. This program was chaired by the Director General Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh and the introductory address of this program was given by PLIO, Dr. Siva Prasad Senapathi.

The National Library, Government of India organised an awareness programme on "Zero Tolerance for Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace" on 02.11.2023. The programme was Chaired by the Director General Prof. (Dr.) A. P Singh, with Chief Guest ACP Madhuri Sarkar, Detective Dept. WB Police, Special guests Advocate Mrs. Chandreyee Alam Gupta, Calcutta High Court and Mrs. Subhra Bhattacharya, Asst. Anthropologist, Anthopological Survey of India.
