Amrita University conducts IEEE Symposium

A national seminar for engineering students, International Symposium on Technology Education and Entrepreneurship(ISEE), organized by the institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at the Amrita University, Amritapuri near here the other day was inaugurated by Prof. V Santha Kumari, Senior Joint Director (ECS), Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala.
In the ceremony that saw the participation and expert speeches of eminent personalities like Mr. Chad Kymal, founder of Omnex Inc and Omnex Systems, Dr. Hiromasa Haneda, life Fellow of IEEE and IES President who currently serves as the Professor Emeritus at Kobe University, Dr Sankaran, the Principal of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Amritapuri. The inaugural address by Prof. V Santha Kumari dealt with the importance of Education, Technology and Entrepreneurship in the present days.
ISEE 2014 witnessed a participation of over 500 students from over 30 colleges across India, along with 12 foreign delegates. The ISEE lectures and workshops bought various academic disciplines under a single forum, providing a platform for the students to excel in their talents. The entire event was coordinated and managed by student volunteers under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, Director of Humanitarian Technology Lab and the General chair of ISEE.
The inaugural Ceremony was followed by a keynote speech on ‘Technology, Disruptive Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Opportunities’ by Mr. Chad Kymal. ISEE 2014 had 9 parallel tracks offering workshops and seminars/webinars on a variety of topics including Robotics and Automation, Industrial Electronics, Signal Processing, Computer Science, Networking, Entrepreneurship, Bio- Inspired Computing, Embedded Systems and Education, all handled by experts from the respective fields. The Education track was set aside exclusively for school students. ISEE 2014 also offered a Distinguished Lecturer Program on ‘Modelling Electro Mechanical conversion systems', by Dr. Hiromasa Haneda.
The workshops turned out to be a golden opportunity for students to explore their technical abilities by relating their theory subjects to the practical world, and avail expert help to clarify their doubts. With a wide variety of workshops ISEE 2014 opened before the students a window to learn, to aspire and to experience the latest in technology. This Symposium served as a platform for bringing together industrialists, students and academicians with the purpose of setting up an international exchange of ideas.
