*77th Independence Day Celebrated across Frontier District Kupwara with great enthusiasm*
KUPWARA,AUGUST 15: In Kupwara district 77th Independence Day was celebrated on Tuesday with great fervor and enthusiasm.
The main function was held at District Police Lines Kupwara where Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori hoisted the National Flag and took salute on March Past presented by the contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, BSF, FPF, JK Police Commandos and school children.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS); Vice Chairman, DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; DDC Members, BDC Chairpersons, Senior Officers of Civil adminstration, Police, CRPF and Army were present on the occasion. Besides, PRIs, government employees and school children, people in large numbers also attended the Independence day celebrations.
Addressing the function, the Chairman DDC congratulated the people on the eve of Independence Day and remembered the sacrifices of the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
DDC Chairman reiterated that Kupwara district has shown inclusive growth on all the fronts.
The Chairman while deliberating upon the overall development scenario of the district highlighted the sector wise achievements.
Earlier, on their arrival the Chairman, the vice chairman, Deputy Commisioner and SSP visited the Martyr’s Memorial and laid floral wreaths.
The tableaus of various departments showcasing their services and achievements were also displayed on the occasion. The school children presented colourful multilingual cultural programmes with patriotic taste and fanfare which were highly applauded by the audience.
At the conclusion of the function, a prize distribution ceremony was held during which the best performing tableaus, students, artists, officers of Civil and Police administration were felicitated with Mementos and Certificates of Appreciation.
At Karnah Sub division, SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, hoisted the tricolor and took salute in traditional costume which was applauded by the locals of the area.
At Sub Division Handwara, Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara, Abdul Majeed Pandit hoisted the National Flag at DPL Handwara and took salute on the parade. Cultural variety programmes were also held on the occasion.
In Lolab sub division, SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat hoisted the tricolor at GDC Sogam and took salute. Cultural programmes were also held in the function.
The National Flag was also hoisted in various Government Offices and Educational Institutions across the district including Kupwara, Handwara, Lolab and Karnah sub divisions.
To honour the martyrs of the motherland and as part of the ongoing program "Mere Maati Mera desh" a plaque( Silapalakam) was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara .Nazir Ahamd Mir,(JKAS)at Kargam Handwara. The BDC Qalamabad, Sarpanch Kargam, BDO Qalamabad and besides a good number of School children participated in the program. On the occasion, Rashtragaan was played and sung by the participants. Later on the ADC in the presence of other participants planted saplings of Chinar and Deodar trees.
Additional Deputy Commissioner , Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir, JKAS , Dy. CEO, ZEO Handwara along with other concerned officers of Youth Services and Sports today inaugurated Meri Maati Meri Desh Tiranga Rally at Govt Model Higher Secondary school Handwara.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir, JKAS along with DDC Rajwar, ACD Kupwara, Tehsildar Handwara, EO Municipal Committee Handwara and other concerned officers of Sports and PDD Deptt visited Multi Purpose Indoor Sports Hall Handwara.
Additional Deputy Commissioner , Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir , JKAS chaired review meeting regarding arrangements for upcoming celebration of Independence Day- 2023, all the sub divisional officers of Sub Division Handwara attended the meeting today on 24/07/ 2023 at Environmental Hall Handwara.

By involving Navy personals in the rescue operation, ADC Handwara and Tehsildar Handwara continously supervised the operation being conducted to trace out the missing girl who got drowned in Nallah Puhru at Jaggerpora Handwara.It is worth to mention here that the DC Kupwara have sought the help of Navy personnel today to help in the rescue operation.

KUPWARA, JUNE 28: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a mega block diwas at Chandigam Sogam in Lolab sub division of Kupwara district to hear the issues and grievances of the general public at their doorsteps.
DDC Member Sogam, Nasir Lone, JD Planning, SDM Lolab, ACD, CMO, CAO, LDM, AD Food, AD Fisheries, DSWO, BMO, CDPO, Engineers from Jal Shakti, PDD, R&B, besides, BDC Chairperson, PRIs and people in large number attended the block diwas function.
Addressing the function, the District Development Commissioner said that the aim of holding the block diwas in Sogam block was to know the issues and grievances of the people for redressal.
Referring to the development, the DDC said that it is a continuous process which takes time and urged PRIs and general public for their cooperation in giving proper way for the development in Lolab sub division. She assured the people for fulfilling gaps regarding infrastructure development across the district subject to availability of resources and urged the need to work through a collective approach for overall development of the district.
While referring to Tourism development, the District Development Commissioner said that tourism is a big employment generation sector adding that soon a tourism plan will be charted out in the coming days for development of tourist destinations of the district especially Lolab valley and Bangus.
She thanked the people for offering her a warm welcome. The DDC Kupwara wished a happy and peaceful Eid-ul-Azha to the people.
Earlier, PRIs including DDC Member Sogam, local Sarpanchs and senior citizens spoke and raised the developmental issues of the area. The issues raised include macadamization of inner roads of the Lolab sub division including Tangcheck, Daramwari, Batnard, Gratnard etc; upgradation of water supply schemes and healthcare facilities were also demanded.
The DDC heard their issues patiently and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all genuine issues are timely resolved.
Later, the DDC distributed Golden Cards and E-Sharm Cards among the beneficiaries.

Chairman District Development Council Irfan Sultan Panditpori along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Mr Nazir Ahmad Mir(JKAS) visited Bye Pass road Handwara, Braripora where Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Handwara and Tehsildar Handwara besides the locals were present on spot to take stock of the situation which has arisen due to accumulation of water in bulk in the paddy fields of village Braripora and Handwara.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara directed Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Handwara to take the necessary steps for draining out the bulk water from the paddy fields.
DDCs, BDCs failed to full fill demands of public in Langate Constituency: Munawar Khawaja
Langate, june, 11:, National Conference senior leader Mohammad Munawar Khawaja today convened public outreach program in Rangpath area wherein scores of people met Khawaja and highlighted various issues and demands pertaining to their day to day life.
People of Rangpath, demanded link roads, from Rangpath to Dogerpora, development of Dalri road and other developmental projects. Munawar Khawaja said that PRIs institutions including DDCs, BDCs, failed to full fill demands of general public like, college for Qaziabad, Medical Block, Education Zone, ITI, Treasury and other governmental institutions.
Khawaja also added that, Residents of Qaziabad are lacking drinking water facilities while it, only tall claims and fake commitments were made during both assembly , panchayat and DDC elections. People in whole constituency are facing problems.

Drug De - Addiction programme was organised by an NGO headed by social worker Mohammad Shafi in collaboration with 15 RR Magam at Govt High School Magam in which many schools of the sub division participated besides the respectable citizens of the area.SDPO Handwara and officers/ officials of education and ICDS departments were also present on the occassion.
Chief guest Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Mr Nazir Ahmad Mir KAS interacted with the students , local citizens and pressed for organising such programmes on regular basis so that the society be made drugs free.

Speaking on the occasion the ADC said that such initiatives will bring drastic change in our Education sector adding that present age is the age of Computer science which needs to be encouraged at all levels.
Earlier the ADC inspected the Tehsil office Vilgam and interacted with staff. The ADC later alongwith BDC vilgam visited the under construction building of Model Degree College Vilgam and reviewed its progress. The College is near completion and the tenders for it's electrification work have been flouted . He said that the exchange papers of the additional land for the College has been submitted to higher authorities which is expected to be disposed off shortly.
