Leh, 30/11/23– Shri Mohd M***a, a dedicated Mechanical Driver in the Fire Service, bid farewell to an illustrious career marked by unwavering commitment and service to the community. The retirement ceremony took place in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, DIG of Police, Shri Junaid Mahmood (IPS) and SP Fire Services, Shri Pardeep Singh.

In a heartfelt ceremony, Shri Mohd M***a was congratulated by both dignitaries, who extended their gratitude for his years of selfless service. The traditional 'Khataq' was presented to the retiree as a symbol of honor and respect. Additionally, he was bestowed with a momento and a farewell gift, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the Fire Service.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is deeply disheartened to hear the untimely demise of the UTDRF personnel Martyr Mohd Reza, No. 1461 of UTDRF unit Kargil. He was a valiant and dedicated personnel who gave his life in the line of duty while rescuing a private vehicle at Drass river near Kaksar on 22-07-2023. He will be remembered for his courage and sacrifice.
On behalf of F&ES Ladakh, SP F&ES SHRI PARDEEP SINGH and DFO F&ES SHRI DAVID ZANGPO along with all the staff members present our deepest commiseration to his family and friends during this difficult time and pray that they find strength and resilience. We salute his selfless sacrifice and sincerity. We will remember him timelessly and look up to this paragon whenever in toil. His demise is an irreparable loss to the department , UT Ladakh and the Country.

Ladakh Fire and Emergency Services Plays a Crucial Role in cleaning of Flood Struck New Gompa Main Market Leh:

Report: 22/07/23

The department of Ladakh Fire and Emergency Services today, under the supervision of SP F&ES Ladakh, Sh. Pardeep Singh carried out voluntary clean up of the flood struck New Gompa at Main Market, Leh. The team sanitized the halls, Room and the prayer ground of the Gonpa along with the whole vicinity of the building. Mud and rubble were cleaned by the locals while the highly pressurized water source was made available by the fire department. Local people were common on the ground who helped the fire fighters clean the place.

Two fire tenders and 15 officials along with DFO, Shri David Zangpo were present at the location. Approximately 300 feet of hose reel hoses were laid and more than thirty thousand liters of water was used to clean the holy site.

The management members of the New Gonpa and other locals thanked F&ES, Leh and their effort in revitalizing this important place for them. After the successful clean up of the Gonpa, the team moved on to clean the front yard of the Jamia Masjid and it’s surroundings and finished it soon after.

Speaking about the incident, Shri David Zangpo emphasized the role of Ladakh Fire and Emergency Services during such times and cheered the efforts of his team.
