Recently, the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) launched a coffee table book called ‘Hum: हम | When Women Lead’.
The book highlights 75 women and their journeys with stories of change. Among the many inspring women, LWTC founder Thinlas Chorol was selected. She joined the unveiling ceremony at UN house in Delhi on march 12th.

Ahead of the ceremony, Thinlas also participated in a discussion with some of the other women featured in the book.

Lots of snow this year in June. We are happy organise any Homestay trek according to your interest and show our Ladakhi lifestyle in the remote villages.

At the start of 2022 there was a lot of uncertainty regarding the possibility to open. But thanks to our staff and friends, old and new, from around the world, we managed to get back to work.

Now we are looking forward to a new year and many more treks in the mountains of Ladakh.

Yesterday our founder, Thinlas Chorol accepted the Special jury award of the Martha Farrell award on behalf of the Ladakhi Women’s Travel Company.
We are thankful to all our friends from around the world that has supported us over the years. And of course we are grateful to all the women who has worked at LWTC since the launch in 2009!

It's been difficult for all of us to get together during the last few years. But recently one of our guides, Tsogyal got married. Giving some of us the chance to meet and celebrate a new chapter of her life. We all wish her and her new husband a prosperous future! ❤️

Ladakhi Womens Travel Company updated their business hours.

We are looking for a new office manager and girls who want to become guides.

Applicants for office manager must:
Have good communication skills
Be organised
Speak and write English well

The salary are dependent on experience and skills.

Also, if you are interested in becoming a guide, we will be hiring girls as porters as well. No experience is required since we will be training you so that you eventually have the skills and experience to work as a guide.

There will be walking interviews on Monday, May 16th, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at our office at Hemis Complex, Zangsti

We are back!

After 2 long years, we are now back. We are all looking forward to getting back out the treks. Come join us!

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed for quite some time now. So in order to generate some income, we have started a tent restaurant at Guphuks where we will also be renting out ice skates.

More then before, we are thankful to our friends and supporters from around the world.
Thank you to all those who supported us and what we do!

Thanks to our supporters around the world, we were able to raise funds to keep our staff employed during the current pandemic.
Since we conducted or clean up champaign in collaboration with ALTOA, we could save on the cost of conducting the clean up. So now our staff will be working with People’s Action Group for Inclusion and Rights (PAGIR).
Our staff will take turns working there, currently they are engaged in working on waste recycling.

We have completed our cleanup campaign in Markha Valley. We were fortunate to be able to partner with All Ladakh Tour Operator Association (ALTOA)
We are very thankful for those who supported our crowdfunding.

We started the Markha valley clean up campaign on 21 July.
