Likir Monastery or Likir Gompa is a Buddhist monastery in UT-Ladakh, India. It is located at 3700m elevation, approximately 52 kilometers west of Leh.

The biggest attraction of Likir Monastery is its 23-meter (75-foot) high statue of Maitreya Buddha covered in gold. It is a marvel to look at.

It is picturesquely situated on a little hill in the valley, in Likir village near the Indus River about 9.5 kilometers north of the Srinagar to Leh highway.

Basgo Monastery, also known as Basgo or Bazgo Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery located in Basgo or Bazgo on the bank of the Indus River in the Leh District of Ladakh in northern India approximately 5 km west of Nimoo and 40 km east of Leh.

Although the monastery was built for the Namgyal rulers in 1680, Bazgo itself was embedded in the early days of Ladakh and is frequently mentioned in the Ladakhi Chronicles when it was a political and cultural center. In the 15th century, a palace was built in Basgo.

The monastery is situated on top of the hill towering over the ruins of the ancient town and is noted for its Buddha statue and murals. The complex comprises the Chamchung, Chamba Lakhang, and Serzang temples, dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha.

The Hemis festival is an illustrious celebration that takes place annually in the Hemis Gompa, located in Leh. The festival spans two days and commences on the tenth day of the fifth month in the Tibetan calendar, congruent with June or July in the Gregorian calendar.

Interestingly, this year's gala will be held on June 16 and 17, with the entire festival being an exclusive affair in Ladakh. The celebrations beam within the central courtyard of the grand Hemis monastery, engulfing the attendees in its vibrant aura.

White Lily is a plant in the true lily family. It forms bulbs at ground level, and, unlike other lilies, grows a basal rosette of leaves during winter, which die the following summer. A leafy floral stem, which generally grows 1.2 meters tall, but exceptionally 2 meters tall, emerges in late spring and bears several sweet and fragrant flowers in summer. The flowers are pure white and tinted yellow in their throats.
