O mom, let me hide in ur arms...
I feel insecure,I am afraid of
dad,brother and
all...
I can't allowed a doctor to touch
me...
I m
afraid...
I want to keep myself safe...
I can't hold my friend's hand,Iam
afraid...
I can't hug my father any more...I
am afraid....
I can't go out with brother,..
I am
afraid...
I won't go school with driver,how
would i
trust him...
I won't stay home alone, if some
one come
what will I do??
I want to go in past and become
child again...
butttttt...that ­ 's all in vain.....
even I am not safe in ur
lap......
bcoz i am a
girl.........
Someone will touch me
there.......... ­ .someone
will ask u to play with me andwill
play with
my body.....
I will get hurt.........Oh ­ hhh.....
it
must be
painful.....
i will be so little for
this......
So no safe place then????????
can u fullfill my one wish?????

hadd e insaniyat ko paar kiya

roond kar phool sehne gulshan ka
mard hone ko sharmsar kiya

zalimo'n ko jo chhoot deti ho
us hukoomat ne beqarar kiya

mulk ki betiyo'n badhao qadam
vaqt ne tum ko zimmedar kiya

aik toofa'n uthao us ke khilaf
jisne izzat ko daagh dar kiya

Women`s education in
India has been one
of the major issues of concern of the
Government of India as well as the society at
large. It is because of the fact that today the
educated women play a very significant role
in overall development and progress of the
country. Women hold a prominent position
in the Indian society as well as all over the
world. However, since the prehistoric times
women were denied opportunities and had
to suffer for the hegemonic masculine
ideology. Thus, this unjustifiable oppression
had resulted into a movement that fought to
achieve the equal status of women all over
the
world. Women Education in India is the
consequence of such progress and this led
to the tremendous improvement of
women`s condition through out the world.
Nevertheless eradication of female illiteracy
is considered as a major concern today. In
the recent era, the Indian society has
established a number of
institutions for the educational development
of women and girls. These educational
institutions aim for immense help and are concerned
with the development of women. Women`s
Education in Ancient India In ancient India,
women and girls received less education
than men. This was due to the set social
norms. Interestingly,in the Vedic period
women had access to education, but
gradually they had lost this
right. Women education in ancient India
prevailed during the early Vedic period. In
addition to that Indian scriptures Rig Veda
and Upanishads mention about several
women sages and seers. Women
enjoyed equivalent position and rights in
the early Vedic era. However, after 500 B.C,
the position of women started to decline.
The Islamic invasion played a vital role in
restricting freedom and rights of the
women. A radical change attended and
there was a terrific constraint for Women
education in India.

deteriorated with the introduction of

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT is a global issue and
discussion on women political right are at
the fore front of many formal and informal
campaigns world wide. The concept of
women empowerment was introduced at
the international women conference at
NAROIBI in 1985. Education is milestone of
women empowerment because it enables
them to responds to the challenges , to
confront their traditional role and change
their life . So that we can’t neglect the
importance of education in reference to
women empowerment India is poised to
becoming superpower , a developed
country by 2020. The year 2020 is fast
approaching ,it is just 13 year away . This
can became reality only when the women of
this nation became empowerment . India
presently account for the largest number no
of illiterates in the world . Literacy rate in
India have risen sharply from 18.3% in 1951
to 64.8% in 2001 in which enrolment of
women in education have also risen sharply 7% to 54.16% .
Despite the importance of women education
unfortunately only 39% of women are
literate among the 64% of the man. Within
the framework of a democratic polity , our
laws , development policies , plan and
programmes have aimed at women’s
advancement in difference spheres. From
the fifth five year plan(1974-78) onwards
has been a marked shift in the approach to
women’s issues from welfare to
development . In recent years ,the
empowerment of women has been
recognized as the central issue in
determining the status of women . The
National Commission of Women was set up
by an Act of Parliament in 1990 to safeguard
the right and legal entitlements of
women .The 73rd and 74th Amendments
(1993) to the constitution of India have
provided for reservation of seats in the local
bodies of panchayats and Municipalities for
women , laying a strong foundation for their
participation in decision making at the local
level . The purpose of this paper to focus on
the women...
