Highlights of the event
-Etiology, Risk factor and Complications of Dysphagia was elaborated
Planning a Dysphagia diet in respect to International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative - IDDSI
And a demo session was conducted in identifying the consistency of the food

On the occasion of World Food day celebration 2023 conducted three events

1. Topic - *Leading a Healthy Lifestyle*
Target group - PUC students, Alva's college . Resource person - Dr.Archana Prabhat

2. Topic - *Food Hygiene, Safety and Wastage*
Target group- Hostilites Alva's college Degree hostel
Resource persons - Students of M.Sc FSN

The session was conducted in various regional language for better reach of the motto.

3. Topic - *Nutrition intervention in Dialysis"*

On behalf of world food day , awareness programs were conducted for PUC students and in hostels using various languages such as Tulu, Kannada, Malayalam, English and Hindi....

On the occasion of the National Nutrition Month Celebration 2023, the IAPEN INDIA Mangaluru Chapter organized following events:
• *Diet camp* was conducted on 5 th September by Dietitians of Father Muller Medical college, Mangalore, on the outpatient department of the hospital. More than 130 participants were assessed for nutritional status and counselled using posters for better understanding.
• *Awareness Program* - by Department of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics of Alva’s College ,Moodbidri conducted the event in Govt. Higher Primary School, Bajire, Belthangady Taluk, Dakshina Kannada with an inclusion of 98 beneficiaries. Awareness was created on the topic Healthy choices and impact of junk foods on general health and wellbeing by performing a skit. Activities are conducted to impart knowledge on Food guide Pyramid, Nutrients and its deficiency disorders, tips for enriching a meal with locally available nutrient rich food items. The program was concluded by distributing supplementary foods.
• *Webinar* on “Affordable Healthy Diet for Food Security “held on September 9th, 2023, Dr.Vijayarani , HOD , V.V.Vaniyaperumal college , Tamil Nadu was the resource person . The event was based on the NNW theme. Resource person well informed the participants regarding Food Security, Food Wastage and planning a diet with locally available nutrient dense food

The achievement is of Dr Shilpa Varma being the first Indian to have won the prestigious MNI GRANT AWARD of 30,000 Euros.
MNI grant rewards national initiatives or research projects for Optimal Nutritional Care and this grant will be used to fulfill the goals if this project.
This was not just a project but a vision brought to light by Dr.Shilpa Varma, Dr.Mansi Gupta Patil and Ms. Datta Patel.

Bringing this accolades to IAPEN INDIA is truly commendable and it's a real pride for all of us.

Dr.Shilpa Varma recieved this from ESPEN Chairman Prof Rocco Barazzoni, Cristina Cuerda, MNI President Angelika Müller, Catherine Hartmann.

Handouts with detailed information regarding breastfeeding practices and nutritional guidelines was distributed.

Representation of balanced diet for different age groups – Adolescence, Pregnancy and breastfeeding were prepared and exhibited for better perception

IAPEN Mangaluru chapter  as organised the Continuous Nutrition education  on 11th April 2023 on occasion of world Health Day at Maya international ,Balmatta Mangalore.Mr Shivashamkar Timmanpyati ,Chief Dietitian ,Tata Memorial Hospital,Mumbai,National Vice President IAPEN India was the chief guest and speaker on Nutrition in Oncology.Dr suresh Rao,Director and Head of Radiation Oncology Mangalore Institute of Oncology  was the guest of honour ,Spoke on the importance of Dietician in the oncology .Team work is always plays an important in treatment of cancer. Dr Vasudev Bhat K President  IAPEN Mangalore Chapter - spoke on the importance of CNE and he had focused that , as we are in the profession its better to be in chapter along with this research plays an important role in oncology nutrition .Felicitation was done for achieves from the chapter members.Dr archana prabhat secretary IAPEN mangalore chapter was present .Rea proposed  vote of thanks for the gatherings.Kirithika hosted  the program  around 200 delegates attended the program.
