Greetings, surf enthusiasts! We are thrilled to share the exciting news from the recent Asian Surf Championships held in the tropical paradise of Maldives.

“Our President Mr.Arun Vasu had the honor of representing India along with his team and meeting delegates from various Asian surfing countries. The event was a perfect platform for fostering camaraderie and discussing ways to promote surfing across the continent.

Our President conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all the neighbouring countries for their support and shared his ambitious vision of making India one of the top surfing destinations in the world. With our extensive 7600km-long coastline, India is blessed with immense potential for surfing, and the Surfing Federation of India is committed to developing competitive surfers in the coming years.

We are excited to announce the upcoming East Coast Pro Tour, a national surf competition that serves as a qualifying series for the prestigious WSL QS 3000. This exhilarating series will take place on the captivating East Coast of India.

The East Coast Pro Tour will bring together the best surfers from across the nation, vying for the chance to showcase their skills on the international stage. This competition promises to be an adrenaline-fueled extravaganza, featuring some of the most talented surfers in the country.

🔥 Wildcard for QS 3000:
In addition to the glory of winning the East Coast Pro Tour, the top surfers will be rewarded with an exclusive wildcard entry to the QS 3000 competition. This highly anticipated event will take place in the breathtaking coastal town of Mahabalipuram in August.

The QS 3000 is part of the World Surf League (WSL), renowned for attracting the most skilled surfers from around the globe. By securing a wildcard, our top surfers will have the opportunity to compete against some of the world's best, showcasing their prowess on the international stage.

All surfers and Surf Schools,
This prestigious event will provide an excellent opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills on an international platform.

Here are some important details and guidelines for participation:
1. Registration:
- 1. Registration is open to all ranking athletes and there is no registration fee until 12th June 2023. (Selection will be based on top ranking and performance criteria’s)
- Late entries will be accepted from June 13th to June 30th, subject to a fee of 100 USD per team athlete, manager, coach, or any other team official.
- All late entry fees and registrations must be submitted through the National Federation by June 30th.
2. National Federation Approval:
- It is mandatory for the team attending to be approved by the Surfing Federation of India.
- To secure approval, athletes or Surf schools must write to federation via email to [email protected]
- Federation will allocate slots based on 2022 rankings and overall performance. Since India has Open and Groms divisions, for those in the Open category in India but are eligible to register for the Junior U18, their rankings in existing divisions will be applied in sequence and overall performance will be considered when having to compare rankings of 2 divisions.
3. Sponsorship:
- 3. Athletes can sponsor themselves or gain a sponsor. SFI reserves the right to maintain its title annual sponsor for all events.
- If athletes are funded through a sponsor, details of the sponsor have to submitted in writing to the Surfing Federation of India.
- The Surfing Federation of India will also consider the sponsorship information when determining the team composition.
We urge all interested athletes to act promptly, as the registration deadline is approaching. Should you have any questions or require further information, please reach out to the Surfing Federation of India directly.
