1. A very dense presence of small medical shops exists in the periphery. For instance, a village with about 18K population in (Sikrudha, Bhagwanpur, Roorkee) has over 30 private care practitioners and 2 pathology labs. A small town Gangoh (Saharanpur) with 3.5 lakh population has over 200 medical shops/clinics
2. >80% of these shops are set up in a single room/booth run by one person
3. All practitioners we visited, mention massive competition with other similar local shops, which sometimes are as near as the next shop sharing a wall with them.
4. This causes everyone to be very cautious in trying out new things for their customers. A common feeling is, good news is often ignored but bad news has celestial velocities
5. People are very open to espouse new technology, provided accuracy and pricing are good. Many are looking for smart pathology solutions.
6. For 6 out of 8, Jiyyo continues to be the only last mile healthcare provider they have heard of in past couple years
