An esophageal stent is a tube placed in esophagus to keep open a blocked area(figure 1). The tube helps you swallow solids and liquids(figure 2). This is a safe procedure in experienced hands.

We treated a young female who presented with gall stone related pancreatitit with persistent biliary obstruction. At presentation she had bilirubin of 10mg/dl. She underwent an ERCP. We found a filling defect in lower CBD, stone removed and a stent placed in CBD. She improved after the intervention.

Successful treatment of post operative biliary leak (post cholecystectom, done outside). We did laparoscopic peritoneal lavage. After stabilization, patient had persistent Bile drainage. MRCP didn't reveal Bile leak. In view of persistent high output drainage, we did ERCP, ERCP showed Bile leak from the cystic duct stump. We put a CBD stent. In next few days, drain output reduced and drainage removed. Presently patient is hemodynamocally stable. We 0lan stent removal after 3-4weeks to allow the complete healing of the post operative fistula.
