An expert talk on ‘Innovation and Startup’ was hosted by CBSA, and CGC Landran in association with IIC to engage the students’ interest in startups. The invited experts Mr. Vishal Panjla, Quality and Business Analyst, and Mr. Sahil Khanna, Business Development Manager, Sensation Solutions Pvt. Ltd., through an interesting session, captivated the participants’ attention taking them through the entire process of setting up a startup; right from the conceptualization of the idea to making it market-ready. They also spoke about the key stages of idea generation, prototyping, proof of concept, and attaining market readiness which are crucial to launching a startup. Central to this discussion was highlighting the important role played by incubators, personalized guidance, networking opportunities, and seed capital in nurturing successful startups. This informative session helped encourage students to embrace the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Master of Computer Application (MCA) program offered by Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA), CGC Landran has won acclaim by securing the prestigious 4th rank in the category of MCA colleges of Super excellence, in the recently released GHRDC Rankings. The second day of the 4th International Conference on Computational Methods in Science and Technology (ICCMST 2024), organized by the Department of CSE & IT concluded with the valedictory ceremony being conducted in the presence of Chief Guest, Dr. Aparna Akula, Principal Scientist, Centre of Excellence for Intelligent Sensors and Systems (ISenS), CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh who was received by the Campus Director, Director Principal CEC-CGC along with other faculty and staff. Dr. Aparna Akula motivated the students to design multi-disciplinary projects as the world is moving towards an interdisciplinary era and congratulated the team behind the conference for making it a huge success. Later, three participants and authors shared their opinions about the conference, and the five best paper awards were announced. Overall the conference turned out well.

The recently held ObserveNow Media 6th Edition of the Education Leaders Conclave & Awards, 2024 held in Chandigarh recently bestowed Chandigarh College of Pharmacy and Chandigarh College of Technology with premium awards in different categories for their outstanding contributions done by them marking another milestone in shaping the future of education. The Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology, CGC Landran inaugurated the 4th International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology (ICCMST-2024) today. The inaugural ceremony of the conference was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice-Chancellor, IKGPTU Jalandhar, as the chief guest, Prof. (Dr.) Divya Bansal, Professor (CSE) and Head (Cyber Security Research Centre) at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh (Deemed to be University), as the guest of honor and Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director of the National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, joined the event virtually. They were joined by Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, and other deans, Directors, and HODs of the departments. The two-day event underscores CGC’s tireless efforts to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation as well as promote collaborative research initiatives in the field of Science & Technology. In addition to the conference proceedings, a souvenir showcasing the research contributions was also released by the distinguished guests.

We at CGC Landran are elated to share that Dr. Ramandeep Saini, Director Principal, CBSA and Dean of International Affairs has been formally accepted as the Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Marketing and Management, Curtin University, Australia. She will work on Joint research/collaboration projects with a Senior Professor. Kudos to the achievement and many congratulations from the entire CGC family.

Chandigarh College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (CCHMCT), CGC Landran happily hosted students from BCM Ludhiana for an excursion on its premises. The objective was to provide them an opportunity to experience the promise that the hospitality sector holds for aspiring chefs, hotel managers or entrepreneurs among them. The visiting students had a wonderful time and a great learning experience interacting with CCHMCT's seasoned faculty and talented students learning more about the career opportunities in culinary arts and hotel administration among a host of other interesting subjects, which certainly helped reinforce their passion for the hospitality industry.
