📈SGX Nifty Indicates Higher Opening📈

At 8:15 am IST, SGX Nifty Futures were trading at 17,824 compared with Nifty’s close of 17,746 yesterday.

Global Stock Markets: Dow 30, -0.5%; Nasdaq, -0.1%; S&P 500, -0.1%; Kospi, +0.8%; Nikkei, -0.6%; Shanghai Composite, +0.3%.

Yesterday, Nifty opened around 150 points lower following the global cues. It slipped further and made a low of 17,656. The index traded in the lower range in the first half of the session. However, recovery in Nifty Bank in the second half helped Nifty to close off-lows. Yesterday’s move was not marked as a distribution day as the volume was lower compared with that of the previous session. The index is currently around 1.5% above its 50-DMA. The broader market outperformed the benchmark indices. Barring Nifty Auto (+0.5%), all major sectoral indices closed lower. Nifty IT and Realty were down 1.5% each. Nifty Bank, Financial Service, Pharma, Metal, and FMCG closed 0.5–1.0% lower.

SGX Nifty Indicates Negative Opening

At 8:15 am IST, SGX Nifty Futures were trading at 17,794 compared with Nifty’s close of 17,925 yesterday.

Global Stock Markets: Dow 30, -1.1%; Nasdaq, -3.3%; S&P 500, -1.9%; Kospi, -0.3%; Nikkei, -1.8%; Shanghai Composite, -0.8%.

Yesterday, Nifty opened on a flat note. The index fell to 17,500 in the opening hour, but there was good buying as the day progressed. It managed to close in the top quartile of the day’s range for the fourth consecutive day. This is a positive action. The index is currently around 2.5% above its 50-DMA. The broader market continues to underperform the benchmark indices. There was mixed action on the sectoral front. Nifty Bank and Financial Service closed more than 2% higher. Nifty Metal, Realty, and Oil & Gas closed 1.0–1.5% higher. On the flip side, Nifty IT (-1.9%) lost the most.
