Advocates' day is celebrated in India by the lawyer community on the 3rd of December to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the First President of India and a very eminent lawyer himself.

Constitution Day of India, 26th November,

The day has been celebrated as Constitution Day since 2015, to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the Constitution Day celebrations in the Supreme Court , today at 10 A.M.

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in its last mahasabha had resolved to name the road in front of the Mira Bhayandar Court building as “Adv. D. B. Patil Road” accordingly the board is installed today by the corporation at its designated spot next to the bus stop and its formal opening will be held very soon.

It is in moments like these that we feel proud to be associated to Former Chairperson and Founder member of our Mirabhayander Advocate Association who is recognized well for his Nobel deeds not only by the legal fraternity but by the people of Mira-bhayander at large.

Sir lead by example and we need to walk on his foot steps and even pave way forward for newer generations and a better Mira-bhayander.

This road milestone will always be a reminder for all the fellow lawyers to look forward towards resolution with dignity and gratitude.

Justice DY Chandrachud to take oath as 50th Chief Justice of India today at 10 a.m.

9th November 2022

President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office to the new Chief Justice of India, Justice D Y Chandrachud at Rashtrapati Bhawan today. He will succeed Justice Uday Umesh Lalit who retired on 8th November 2022.

Justice D Y Chandrachud will be the 50th Chief Justice of India. Born in 1959, Justice Chandrachud was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of India on the 13th of May 2016.

Earlier, he served as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. He had completed his LLB from Campus Law Centre from Delhi University and obtained an LLM degree and a Doctorate in Juridical Sciences from Harvard Law School in the USA.

The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 was enacted on October 11, 1987. It came into effect on November 9, 1995.

National Legal Services Day was commenced by the Supreme Court of India in 1995. Their aim was to assist and provide free legal help and support to the weaker sections of society. The Supreme Court also wanted to commemorate the enactment of the Legal Services Authorities Act.

The statewide lok adalat will be held on 12th November 2022.

Pending litigation for several years not only burdens the courts but also litigants at multiple levels be it emotional, mental, financial or physical.

Some of them even die during the pendency of the case.

As advocates we all have a joint duty to reduce this burden from courts as well as free the litigants from this cage.

As per our requisition MLA Shri Pratap Surnaik organized meeting of PWD officers and MBAA committee at Mira Bhayandar court building today morning at 11 am.

He has assured that the court building will start by Diwali and be operational by January 2023

The event was a great success and a step forward for bright future of Mirabhayander court building.

Merely writing “cancelled” on registered power of attorney wouldn’t make it null and void: Supreme Court

Amar Nath v. Gian Chand, Civil Appeal No. 5797 of 2009, decided on 28-01-2022

The High Court opined that POA being cancelled on 02-02-1987, defendant 2 was not competent to execute the sale deed on 28-04-1987. Further, relying on Section 18 of the Registration Act, the High Court held that it was necessary for the Registering Authority to see the true copy of the special POA since in view of the cancellation of the original power of attorney, the same could not be relied upon by the Registering Authority for the purpose of ex*****on of the sale deed. Hence, the High Court set aside the findings of the courts below and decreed the suit by declaring the plaintiff as the owner in possession of the land and the mutation showing the sale in favour of the First Defendantwas declared null and void.

Additionally, noticing that there was no expressed restriction on price in the POA, the Bench held that at best the defendant 2 could be held guilty of breach of duty to for acting against the interest of principal however, defendant 2 having sold the property for Rs.30,000 instead Rs.55,000 could not invalidate the sale or render it null and void. Accordingly, the impugned judgment was set aside.

We therefore urge all fellow members to strictly adhere to the latest SOP by High court of Bombay.

Also keep a close eye to the symptoms of this variant which include cough, fatigue, congestion and runny nose. However, unlike earlier variants this one does not have symptoms of high fever and loss of smell and taste. So be extra careful and get self help rapid antigen test done as soon as you have a doubt.

Yes, once again, breaking the chain is the most important element to control the spread of this virus.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other personnel died after the Indian Air Force chopper they were travelling in crashed near Coonoor near Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri hill district.

While an investigation has been ordered, the government is likely to make a statement in Parliament on Thursday on the crash of the Mi-17V5 helicopter.

The aircraft was on its way from Sulur IAF base in Coimbatore to Defence Staff College in Wellington.

Mahaparinirvan Din is observed on the 6th of December every year to mark the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. Dr BR Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Constitution of India. He was also an eminent Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement as well as the rights of women and labour.
In Buddhism, ‘parinirvana’ which means nirvana-after-death occurs upon the death of someone who has attained nirvana during their lifetime. It implies a release from the world, karma and rebirth as well as the dissolution of the skandhas.

Ambedkar died in his sleep on 6th December 1956 at his home in Delhi. 6th of December is observed as Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Diwas. A Buddhist cremation was organised at Dadar Chowpatty beach (Chaitya Bhoomi) on 7th December, attended by lakhs of grieving people. It began to be known as Chaitya Bhoomi after Ambedkar was cremated there. Chaitya Bhoomi is a revered place of pilgrimage for all Ambedkarites and Buddhists in the World.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the Governor, the Minister and many other politicians pay tribute to Ambedkar every year on 6th December in Chaitya Bhoomi. Chaitya Bhoomi hosts a memorial to Ambedkar and has been graded an A-class tourism and pilgrimage site by the Government of Maharashtra.
