Is getting married an answer?
I read an article and realized that people get married thinking that it could be an answer to their problems. Understand, you problem is YOURS! It is only you who can solve that problem and not anyone else. DO NOT THINK that marriage can solve problems or can cure your loneliness, only you can do that.
I wont say a happy person but a person who is aware can be happy in a marriage. Be happy as a single, be independent - when i say independent - i mean to say own yourself, own your worries, own your happiness, own everything that is yours and then look for a companion who understands and does the same. Marry because of love and when it feels right, not out of loneliness or any mess that you are not able to deal with alone!
Remember, we all are a mess in our ownself, why do you think your partner will be no mess, he/she is also a human being. So, if you marry to find a solution, you are multiplying your mess! What further create problems is when you make your partner responsible to solve your mess, i mean, why should he/she? Ask yourself this question 10 times!
The key is to clear your own mess, be responsible for your own life, own your problems and continue to do that all your life! Then only you can find happiness in any relationship. Look for a partner and not for a parent in a marriage! High time we take responisibilty for our lives!
Where is your focus right now? Shift your focus to things that you need more of! Whichever plant you water, it grows. Same approach is applicable to our thoughts as well. Focus on the things that need growth.

Hi, we have received a couple of queries on How to sleep well and deal with restless feelings during this pandemic.
Sharing a guided meditation that I personally listen to every night before I sleep. This is a chakra balancing meditation. Our body consists of 6 energy chakras that are imbalanced due to various factors. This guided meditation will help in balancing your chakras. You can listen to this before going to sleep. Follow these steps:
1. Do it daily, just before you are about to sleep
2. Shut off the lights
3. Lie down in a comfortable position and plug in your earphones to avoid any distraction or disturbance

When you become an observer and instead of reacting to your anxious thoughts, if you respond, you will realize YOU ARE NOT THE FIRST THOUGHT THAT COMES TO YOUR MIND. In anxiety, we mostly tend to believe our first thoughts about us that are mostly negative, self doubting and fearful. After today, do not believe them.

If you know someone who gets anxious, help them do a little grounding exercise.
Anxiety causes the fear of unknown and it takes us away from the present moment. The idea is to bring the person back to their immediate surroundings. Do a little grounding exercise that involves using your five senses - feel the air or sunlight, focus on breathing, notice things you can see, hear, feel, smell and taste.
Try and keep coming back to the present.

When I was a kid, my mother got me a story book in Hindi. It was called - Roosi Lok Kathayein (Russian Folk Stories).
One of the characters in this book was a witch who used to help and guide every traveller who would get lost on their way. Every lost traveller used to reach Dhaddo Baba Yaga (that was the name of the witch).
She would hand them over something as a hint to achieve their destination and would say - “Raat ki baat kabhi sach nahi hoti, subah zarur koi tarkeeb nikal aegi!” Whatever happens in the night is not the truth, morning will bring you a solution!
I never forgot this line and my love for the book and Dhaddo Baba Yaga remains the same, you know why? Because whenever I go through a bad day and lie down on my bed to sleep, I end up remembering this line as if Baba Yaga somehow whispers this line in my ears. And that gives me hope for a new day.

This is in response to a lot of queries in our Inbox where people have asked whether they are worthy of good things in life:
Yes, my dear, each one of us is created by God differently and imagine how much efforts God must be putting in to create each one of us so unique. That, in itself, says that you are worthy of all the amazing things in the Universe. Despite what you may see, think or experience, know that you are protected and loved by God irrespective of what you think.
Tip: Practice gratitude to stop complaining and counting your blessings, instantly you will realize you have so much more than the people around you.
How to do it: Take out 5 minutes to every day write 5 things you are grateful for in your day. It could be as simple as - Thankful to have a fruitful day at work or Thankful for my best friend.
Do this exercise for 21 days and see your perspective changing.
And remember,
No matter what,

There will be days when you'll feel low and things will feel difficult. Accept the feeling and live it. Just remember one thing - feelings and thoughts are like clouds, they will eventually pass. That's how I gain strength on my difficult days.

Relationships: Either it's excitement or it's monotony?
Relationships are tricky. When the other person is not serious about us, we keep chasing and there is excitement. But when the other person is convinced, the relationship slowly becomes monotonous. So either it's excitement or monotony! We are constantly shuffling between the two.
How do we figure this out?
Number 1 - By accepting that the above point is true.
Number 2 - A relationship is a lot of work, two people have to constantly work on maintaining and nurturing the bond. It will only move when BOTH the people in the relationship have the same goal. Sit back and talk to your partner as to what you both want from life. Both of you have to be on the same page as to where you both see yourself in 5 years or 10 years.
Number 3 - There will be days full of excitement and there will be days full of monotony, you have to find a middle path. Nothing in extreme works. If your relationship goes into extremes every other day, you need to check what's wrong.
Do not lose yourself just because you are in a relationship. A right relationship will encourage you to be more of your authentic yourself.
